Position Overview
CIG is seeking an accomplished and safety-oriented Chief Pilot to spearhead its private flight operations. Key Responsibilities
The Chief Pilot will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties, including:
- Providing leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to flight crew members, fostering their professional development.
- Directing daily flight operations to ensure strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company policies.
- Developing, maintaining, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to uphold optimal safety and operational efficiency.
- Actively performing pilot duties, including extensive domestic and international flights.
- Managing pilot scheduling, ensuring flight readiness, and meticulously monitoring duty limitations.
- Collaborating closely with maintenance teams and external vendors to facilitate inspections, audits, and aircraft readiness.
- Overseeing the meticulous management of training records, flight hours, certifications, and critical compliance documentation.
- Partnering with organizational leadership to develop and implement safety initiatives and achieve departmental objectives.
- Cultivating a robust culture of teamwork, professionalism, and unparalleled customer service within the flight department.
Qualifications
Candidates for the Chief Pilot position should possess a distinguished aviation background, demonstrating the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Over 10,000 hours of total flight time, including a minimum of:
- 5,000 hours in turbine aircraft
- 5,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC)
- Possession of a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate and a Commercial Pilot Certificate.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in corporate aviation.
- Extensive operational experience in both domestic and international environments.
- Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and communication abilities.
- Profound knowledge of FAA regulations and Safety Management System (SMS) programs.
- A professional, discreet, and highly service-oriented approach.
- A valid, unrestricted passport for international travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A Challenger 604 type rating.
- Demonstrated success in leading aviation teams and fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
- Technically proficient with a proactive, hands-on leadership style.
