Job Overview
Jet Linx is actively recruiting experienced Second in Command (SIC) candidates to join its esteemed team for Challenger 604/605 heavy jet aircraft operations under Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. The ideal applicant will reside within or be willing to relocate to the Dallas, TX base area, ensuring a proximity of no more than a two-hour call-out time from their home base.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft. This involves meticulous preparation and adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Total Flight Time: 2,500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Essential Functions
- Proactive management of duty, flight, and rest periods in accordance with company policies and FARs.
- Maintenance of clear and consistent communication with company operations regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position updates, and pre/post-flight reporting.
- Management and upkeep of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensuring the currency of all navigation charts, publications, and company manuals.
- Maintenance of a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstration of strong, proactive decision-making capabilities.
- Embodiment and consistent demonstration of Jet Linx's core values in all professional interactions.
Additional Requirements
- Preference for candidates possessing initial or recurrent 142 type-specific training within the past 24 months.
- Possession of a valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Current valid passport.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate (Unrestricted).
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug and alcohol testing as required.
- Unrestricted authorization to travel to all EU, Canada, and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to undergo and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience is required.
- Work responsibilities are primarily conducted in and around aircraft and terminal environments.
- Capacity to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits
Jet Linx provides a competitive compensation and benefits package. The starting base annual salary for this position ranges from $135,000 to $170,000, with the final salary determined by factors including geographic location, aircraft type, relevant education, training, and candidate experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a 6% company match, paid time off, and company-paid life and short-term disability coverage.
