Second in Command – Challenger 604/605
Jet Linx is seeking a qualified Second in Command for its Challenger 604/605 heavy jet aircraft. This is a full-time position based in Austin, TX, supporting Part 91 and 135 flight operations. The successful candidate must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the base area and live within a two-hour call-out time of the designated home base.
The Second in Command (SIC) reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot and assists in preparing for and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Manages duty, flight, and rest times according to company and CFR requirements.
- Maintains communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and pre- and post-flight reports.
- Maintains and manages electronic flight bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensures navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current.
- Maintains a current 1st Class medical certificate.
- Conveys strong, proactive decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates Jet Linx’s core values in all interactions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 2500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Instrument Time: 150 hours
Other Requirements:
- Initial or Recurrent 142 training in type within the last 24 months is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the US.
- Current passport.
- ATP (ability to obtain ATP).
- 1st Class Medical certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and submit to random drug/alcohol testing when required.
- Unrestricted ability to travel to all EU, Canada, and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to release and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Majority of work is completed in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
- Ability to move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
