Helicopter Commander - The King's Helicopter Flight
The King's Helicopter Flight (TKHF) seeks an experienced and highly skilled multi-engine helicopter commander to join its team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional helicopter travel services to Members of the Royal Family undertaking official engagements across the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
- As either Pilot in Command or Co-Pilot, the individual will be responsible for the planning and safe execution of flights in accordance with TKHF Operations Manual.
- When acting as Pilot in Command, the individual will serve as the central point of contact and lead other TKHF personnel involved in the flight.
- In addition to regular flying duties, the successful candidate will support the Director of Flight Operations with various management and operational activities.
Essential Criteria:
- Holds a valid UK ATPL (H) or a UK CPL (H) with current Instrument Rating.
- Possesses a UK Class 1 medical and a valid UK Passport.
- An AW139 type rating and Corporate/VVIP experience are highly desirable.
- Demonstrates a commitment to exceptional operating standards with meticulous attention to detail and strong time management skills.
- Possesses the ability to devise accurate flight plans and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exhibits high levels of initiative, proactivity, and problem-solving capabilities, demonstrating the ability to think ahead and take decisive action when required.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling confident interaction with a diverse range of individuals.
- Demonstrates strong captaincy and leadership qualities, promoting a safe, open, and honest working culture.
Due to the nature of the role, the candidate will be required to reside within one hour of RAF Odiham. A flexible approach to working hours will be necessary to undertake flights across the UK, including occasional overnight stays. The successful candidate will work five days out of seven.
