Role Overview:
Safran Nacelles is seeking a Programme Quality Pilot to join their team in Burnley. This role is pivotal in supporting the interface between Safran Nacelles and its customers on all matters related to product and process quality. The Programme Quality Pilot ensures customer satisfaction, contributes to the achievement of quality scorecard targets, and fosters a culture of excellence and collaboration within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serving as the primary interface for customer quality matters.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting Quality scorecard objectives.
- Collaborating effectively with stakeholders to address their needs and promote a positive working environment.
- Defining internal non-quality reduction targets with stakeholders and monitoring their achievement through localised eradication plans.
- Contributing to the reduction of Non-Quality Costs and supporting the Programme's financial performance.
- Participating in Customer Quality Reviews.
- Preparing and maintaining DAMAs (Discrepancy Analysis and Mitigation Actions) for quality escapes.
- Representing the Customer Quality focus in Airworthiness Meetings, supporting DAMAs.
- Responsibility for preparing customer quality process documentation, including Quality Plans.
- Ensuring transmission of Customer Quality issues to operational teams.
- Overseeing the cosmetic quality of delivered products.
- Supporting customer audits.
- Providing weekly and monthly reporting on Customer Quality KPIs via the QA dashboard.
- Reviewing all Customer Quality documents and requirements.
- Cultivating positive working relationships through collaboration with peers and other functions.
- Responding to and supporting the resolution of Customer feedback and complaints.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing solutions to reduce costs and maximise profit.
- Identifying and escalating risks or concerns related to product or people safety using established company tools and processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with quality standards such as EN 9100 and regulations like EASA Part 21, ideally within an aerospace or automotive environment.
- Good knowledge of applicable products and applications (Nacelle knowledge is beneficial).
- Experience conducting internal and external audits.
- Demonstrated ability to present information, influence stakeholders, and maintain relationships with senior personnel.
- Experience implementing key quality tools (SPC, FMEA, 8D, Six Sigma).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, alongside proficiency in IT.
- A pragmatic approach to organisation, planning, and adherence to timelines for reports and customer focus activities.
- Motivated and capable of working effectively under pressure.
- Possession of an HNC, HND, or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- A formal quality qualification and eligibility for membership of the IQA is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of French (written and spoken) is beneficial but not essential.
