Primary Responsibilities

The First Officer serves as a key representative of the airline. Working in close cooperation with the entire crew, the incumbent is jointly responsible for the safe, punctual, and highly professional operation of the aircraft. This includes ultimate responsibility for the integrity of the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo on board.

  • Operating the fleet in a safe and efficient manner, prioritizing punctuality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to the highest quality standards for guests.
  • Executing comprehensive flight preparation and operational procedures strictly in accordance with airline standards and regulations.
  • Maintaining seamless collaboration and communication with the cockpit and cabin crew, ground personnel, and Air Traffic Control (ATC).
  • Providing essential support to the Commander in all aspects of flight operations and deputizing for the Commander when necessary.
  • Proactively and continuously maintaining and deepening professional knowledge and proficiency.
  • Demonstrating responsible and sustainable decision-making throughout all operational activities.

Required Qualifications and Criteria

To qualify for the Direct Entry First Officer A330 position, candidates must fulfill the following essential criteria:

Educational Background

A completed secondary education (e.g., Matura/Abitur) or an equivalent Higher Vocational Diploma (Diplom HF), University, or Technical College entrance qualification is required.

Licensing and Experience

  • Possession of an ATPL(A), CPL(A)/IR with ATPL(A) theoretical credits, or an MPL License (EASA Part-FCL).
  • Completion of Advanced UPRT Training compliant with EASA.FCL.745.
  • Current and valid Airbus A330 Type Rating.
  • Multi Engine IR Rating with Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) authorization.
  • A minimum of 800 hours of documented flight experience on the A330 family of aircraft.
  • Valid Medical Class 1 Certificate.
  • Fully documented and verifiable record of flight performance (including logbook extracts, licenses, etc.).

General Requirements

  • Citizenship of Switzerland or an EU-27/EFTA member state passport holder.
  • Very strong German language skills (minimum B2 proficiency required, if German is not the native or daily language) and proficient English skills (minimum ICAO Level 4).
  • Impeccable background and personal integrity.
  • Willingness to receive vaccinations approved in Switzerland (including but not limited to COVID-19 and Yellow fever).
  • Body height must be between 160 cm and 198 cm.
  • Maximum age limit of 56 years, as stipulated by the collective bargaining agreement (GAV).
