Key Responsibilities
As a First Officer, the successful candidate will represent SWISS with professionalism and dedication. Collaborating closely with the entire crew, the First Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, punctual, and comfortable transport of passengers and cargo to their destinations. This position carries significant responsibility for the aircraft, its crew, and all persons and goods on board. Key responsibilities include:
- Safely and efficiently operates SWISS aircraft, adhering to strict punctuality, economic, and high-quality standards for all guests.
- Executes meticulous flight preparation and conducts flights in strict accordance with SWISS operational procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Fosters effective collaboration and communication with the flight crew, cabin crew, ground personnel, and air traffic control.
- Provides comprehensive support and deputizes for the Commander in all aspects of flight operations and decision-making.
- Continuously maintains and enhances professional knowledge and piloting skills through self-directed learning and training.
- Demonstrates responsible and sustainable conduct in all operational and professional activities.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates aspiring to become a Direct Entry First Officer A320 at SWISS must fulfill the following stringent criteria. In addition to a completed secondary education (e.g., Matura/Abitur, Diploma HF, general university entrance qualification, or university of applied sciences entrance qualification), applicants must possess:
- Valid EASA Part-FCL ATPL(A), CPL(A)/IR with ATPL(A) theory, or MPL License.
- Completion of Advanced UPRT Training in accordance with EASA.FCL.745.
- Current and valid A320 Type Rating.
- Multi Engine IR Rating with PBN endorsement.
- A minimum of 800 hours of documented flight experience on the A320 family aircraft.
- Valid EASA Medical Class 1 Certificate.
- Flawlessly documented flight performance record (e.g., comprehensive logbook extract, current licenses, etc.).
- Swiss nationality or possession of an EU-27/EFTA passport.
- Excellent proficiency in German (minimum B2 level proficiency proof required if German is not a native or everyday language) and good command of English (minimum ICAO Level 4).
- Impeccable personal record and background.
- Willingness to receive vaccinations approved in Switzerland (including but not limited to COVID-19, Yellow Fever).
- Physical height between 160 cm and 198 cm.
- Maximum age of 56 years, as stipulated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
