Responsibilities

As a Pilot, the candidate represents SWISS and assumes responsibility for the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo, ensuring safe and punctual flight operations. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Operating SWISS aircraft safely and efficiently, maintaining high standards of punctuality, economy, and service quality.
  • Conducting flight preparation and execution in accordance with SWISS protocols.
  • Collaborating effectively with flight crews, ground personnel, and air traffic control.
  • Supporting and acting as a deputy to the Commander in all operational matters.
  • Maintaining and continuously enhancing professional knowledge independently.
  • Demonstrating responsible and sustainable conduct in all operational activities.

Requirements

To qualify for the Direct Entry First Officer A320 position, candidates must possess a completed secondary education (Matura/Abitur, advanced vocational diploma, or equivalent) and satisfy the following criteria:

  • ATPL(A), CPL(A)/IR with ATPL(A) theory, or MPL license (EASA Part-FCL).
  • Advanced UPRT training in accordance with EASA.FCL.745.
  • Valid A320 Type Rating.
  • Multi-Engine IR Rating with PBN.
  • Minimum of 800 hours of flight experience on the A320 family.
  • Valid Medical Class 1 certificate.
  • Completely documented flight record (logbook extract, license, etc.).
  • Citizenship of Switzerland or an EU-27/EFTA member state.
  • Excellent command of German (minimum C1 level if not a native speaker) and good command of English (minimum ICAO Level 4).
  • Impeccable personal record.
  • Willingness to receive vaccinations approved in Switzerland (including COVID-19, Yellow Fever, etc.).
  • Height between 160 cm and 198 cm.
  • Maximum age of 56 years, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement (GAV).
