Responsibilities

As a Pilot, you represent SWISS. You share responsibility for the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo, ensuring safe and punctual operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating SWISS aircraft safely and efficiently, maintaining high standards of punctuality, economy, and service quality.
  • Conducting flight preparation and execution in accordance with SWISS standards.
  • Collaborating effectively with flight crews, ground staff, and air traffic control.
  • Supporting and representing the Commander in all operational matters.
  • Maintaining and deepening professional knowledge independently.
  • Acting in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Requirements

To qualify for the Direct Entry First Officer A320 position, candidates must possess a completed secondary education (Matura/Abitur, Diplom HF, or general university/university of applied sciences entrance qualification) and meet the following criteria:

  • ATPL(A), CPL(A)/IR with ATPL(A) theory, or MPL license (EASA Part-FCL).
  • Advanced UPRT training compliant with EASA.FCL.745.
  • Valid A320 Type Rating.
  • Multi Engine IR Rating with PBN.
  • Minimum of 800 flight hours on the A320 family.
  • Valid Medical Class 1 certificate.
  • Fully documented flight performance record (e.g., logbook extracts, licenses).
  • Swiss citizenship or EU-27/EFTA passport holder.
  • Very good command of German (minimum C1 level if not a native/daily speaker) and good English skills (minimum ICAO Level 4).
  • Impeccable character and criminal record.
  • Willingness to be vaccinated with vaccines approved in Switzerland (including COVID-19, Yellow Fever, etc.).
  • Height: 160–198 cm.
  • Maximum age: 56 years, based on the Collective Labour Agreement (GAV).
