Role and Responsibilities

As a First Officer, the incumbent is a key representative of SWISS International Air Lines. Working seamlessly with the entire crew, the First Officer is jointly responsible for ensuring the safe, punctual, and comfortable journey of all guests to their destinations. This critical role encompasses the responsibility for the aircraft, crew coordination, passenger welfare, and on-board cargo management.

Specific duties include:

Operating SWISS fleet aircraft with strict adherence to the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and punctuality, while maintaining an elevated level of quality service for all guests.
Executing comprehensive flight preparation and flight management procedures in accordance with mandated SWISS operational standards.
Fostering effective collaboration and communication with cabin crew, ground operations personnel, and Air Traffic Control (ATC) services.
Providing essential support and acting as a competent deputy to the Commander in all phases of flight and decision-making processes.
Demonstrating proactive commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining expert technical knowledge independently.
Upholding responsible and sustainable practices in all operational activities.

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must satisfy the demanding criteria for the role of Direct Entry First Officer A320 and possess a robust educational background, equivalent to Matura/Abitur, HF Diploma, or general higher education qualification.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Possession of an ATPL(A), CPL(A)/IR with ATPL(A) theory, or an MPL License (EASA Part-FCL).
Completion of Advanced UPRT Training, compliant with EASA.FCL.745 requirements.
Holding a current and valid A320 Family Type Rating.
Holding a Multi Engine IR Rating with Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) endorsement.
A minimum of 800 hours of documented flight experience on the Airbus A320 family aircraft.
Possession of a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Provision of a complete and seamlessly documented flight performance record (including logbook extracts and license copies).
Citizenship of Switzerland or possession of an EU-27/EFTA passport.
Demonstrated high proficiency in German language skills (minimum B2 level proof required if German is not the native or daily language) and solid English proficiency (minimum ICAO Level 4).
Verification of an impeccable personal record (clean background check).
Willingness to comply with mandatory vaccination requirements approved in Switzerland (including COVID-19, Yellow Fever, and others).
Physical Height requirement: 160 cm to 198 cm.
Age Limit: Maximum 56 years, based on the relevant Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
