Responsibilities
As a First Officer at SWISS, the incumbent serves as a brand ambassador, contributing to the safe and punctual arrival of passengers at their destinations. This role entails comprehensive responsibility for the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo. Key duties include:
- Operating SWISS aircraft safely and efficiently, prioritizing punctuality, economy, and a high standard of quality for passengers.
- Meticulous flight preparation and execution in accordance with SWISS standards.
- Effective collaboration with the entire crew, ground personnel, and air traffic control.
- Providing support and acting as deputy to the Captain in all operational matters.
- Continuous, self-directed maintenance and enhancement of professional aviation knowledge.
- Conducting all duties with a high degree of responsibility and a commitment to sustainability.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for the Direct Entry First Officer A320 position at SWISS, candidates must meet the following criteria:
In addition to a completed secondary education (Matura/Abitur) or equivalent qualifications (Diploma HF, general university entrance qualification, or university of applied sciences entrance qualification), the following prerequisites are essential:
- ATPL(A), CPL(A)/IR with ATPL(A) theory, or MPL license (EASA Part-FCL).
- Advanced UPRT Training compliant with EASA FCL.745.
- Valid A320 Type Rating.
- Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (IR) with Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) endorsement.
- Minimum of 800 flight hours experience on the A320 family of aircraft.
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Undisputed and continuous documented record of flight performance (flight log, license, etc.).
- Swiss citizenship or an EU-27/EFTA passport.
- Excellent command of German (minimum B2 language proficiency if German is not the mother tongue or primary language of daily use) and proficient English skills (minimum ICAO Level 4).
- Impeccable criminal record.
- Willingness to undergo vaccinations with vaccines approved in Switzerland, including COVID-19 and Yellow Fever.
- Physical height between 160-198 cm.
- Maximum age of 56 years, as stipulated by the Collective Labour Agreement (GAV).
