Key Responsibilities
As a pilot representing SWISS, the individual will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and punctual arrival of passengers at their destinations. This role carries significant responsibility for the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo.
- Operate SWISS aircraft with a focus on safety, efficiency, punctuality, and economy, maintaining the highest quality standards for guests.
- Execute flight preparations and operations in accordance with SWISS regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with the flight crew, ground personnel, and air traffic control.
- Provide support and act as a deputy to the Commander in all aspects of flight operations.
- Continuously and independently maintain and enhance professional aviation knowledge and skills.
- Exhibit responsible and sustainable professional conduct.
- Demonstrate integrity, maturity, loyalty, strong social skills, and leadership potential.
Qualifications and Requirements
Prospective candidates for pilot positions at SWISS must meet the following criteria:
- Completed secondary education with Matura/Abitur, or a HF diploma, or general university entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife).
- Possession of an ATPL(A) / CPL(A)/IR with ATPL theory, or an MPL license compliant with EASA Part-FCL.
- Valid MCC (Multi-Crew Cooperation) certificate.
- Current Medical Class 1 certificate.
- Minimum of 600 flight hours, with a Maximum Take-Off Mass (MTOM) exceeding 5.7 tonnes.
- Comprehensively documented flight record, including logbook extracts and licenses.
- Swiss citizenship or a passport from an EU-27 or EFTA country.
- Excellent command of German (minimum B2 level required if not a native or everyday speaker) and proficient conversational English (minimum ICAO Level 4).
- Unblemished background check.
- Willingness to undergo vaccinations with Swiss-approved vaccines, including COVID-19 and Yellow Fever.
- Height between 160cm and 198cm.
- Maximum age of 56 years, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement (GAV).
- Completion of Advanced UPRT (Unusual Attitude Recovery Training) in compliance with EASA.FCL.745.
