Position Summary

Summit Air invites applications from highly qualified and ambitious pilots for the position of First Officer. The First Officer will collaborate closely with the Captain, meticulously adhering to all regulatory requirements and company standard operating procedures (SOPs). Key Responsibilities

• Act as Second-in-Command, providing comprehensive assistance to the Captain in the safe, efficient, and professional operation of the aircraft.
• Execute pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight duties with precision, strictly in accordance with company SOPs, policies, and all relevant aviation regulations.
• Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, ensuring the aircraft's airworthiness and readiness for scheduled flights.
• Continuously monitor aircraft systems, fuel status, and performance parameters across all phases of flight.
• Maintain accurate and meticulous flight logs and all required operational documentation.
• Ensure clear and effective communication with air traffic control, ground personnel, and fellow flight crew members.
• Adhere rigorously to all Transport Canada regulations (CARs) and Summit Air's stringent safety management system standards.
• Actively participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to maintain and enhance aviation proficiency and expand skill sets.
• Contribute to fostering a strong culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork within the cockpit environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a valid Canadian Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) – Frozen ATPL candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Current Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating (IFR).
• Valid Category 1 Medical Certificate.
• Relevant flight experience commensurate with the responsibilities of a First Officer.
• Profound understanding and practical application of Transport Canada Aviation Regulations (CARs).
• Demonstrated exceptional decision-making abilities, advanced problem-solving skills, and superior situational awareness.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, essential for effective crew and ground interaction.
• Proven ability to perform effectively and collaboratively within a fast-paced, team-oriented operational environment.
• Residency in, or a strong willingness to relocate to, the Vancouver, BC, or Calgary, AB, areas.
• Ability to successfully obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
