The Simulator Second in Command is responsible for maintaining currency in assigned programs to act as the Second-in-Command for both internal and external customer pilots during recurrent, initial, or generic training courses. The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate training sessions by acting as a competent flying partner in multi-crew aircraft configurations.
High school diploma or G.E.D., plus two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidates must possess a Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings, with a minimum of 450 flight hours prior to the start of an assignment.
The role requires the ability to use hands for controls, reach with arms, and maintain body mobility including standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling. Physical requirements include the ability to reach and manipulate rudder controls/anti-torque pedals, manage numerous simulator controls, and safely enter/exit the simulator device, including during emergency scenarios involving severe pitched attitudes. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Candidates must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Work is performed in an environment near moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to outside weather, high/precarious places, and varying environmental conditions. Noise levels are typically moderate.
