Canadian North is seeking dedicated Pilots to join our flight operations team. Position Overview

The First Officer (second-in-command) reports to the Chief Pilot and is responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft and the well-being of all passengers and crew. Pilots at Canadian North enjoy a diverse flight environment, ranging from gravel runway operations to scheduled passenger and cargo services, as well as a robust charter program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate aircraft safely in accordance with Canadian North Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft by strictly adhering to safety policies.
  • Identify and communicate hazards and risks using the designated safety reporting program.
  • Maintain professional qualifications and successfully complete the Transport Canada Pilot Proficiency Check (PPC).

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).
  • Successful completion of either valid IATRA or SARON and SAMRA exams.
  • Valid Transport Canada Group 1 Instrument Rating.
  • Valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum of 750 hours total flight time (or 250 hours total time for graduates of a recognized aviation degree/diploma program).
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must possess a current valid passport or Canadian Permanent Resident Card.
  • Must hold all required visas or travel documents to allow for unrestricted travel.
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.
  • Previous experience is not required.
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktut is considered a definite asset.
