First Officer - Boeing 737

Responsibilities

Provide friendly service and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
Work cooperatively to ensure the success of the company.
Collaborate effectively with the Captain, Flight Attendants, Dispatcher, and Ground Personnel.
Comply with all regulations and directives pertaining to flight operations as directed by the Captain.
Operate aircraft in accordance with Southwest Airlines' approved manuals, specifications, and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
Ensure no operation of aircraft in a careless or reckless manner.
Comply with company policies on Drug-Free Workplace and Alcohol Misuse.
Submit required reports on irregularities or incidents.
Notify management of any discrepancy or incident affecting safety or compliance.
Perform as Captain should the Captain become incapacitated.
May perform Passenger Assistance activities.
Perform other job duties as directed.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S.
Must be at least 23 years of age at the time of hire.
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company standards.
Must be able to comply with company attendance standards and work rules.
Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and travel on a constant basis.
Willingness to grant and share Pilot Records Database (PRD) information.

Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.
Required: USA DOT/FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with "Airplane Multiengine Land" Category and Class Ratings, and "English Proficient" limitation.
Required: USA DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate and any necessary Special Issuance or Statement of Demonstrated Ability.
Required: FCC - Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
Required: Valid United States Driver's License.
Required: Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally without restriction.
Required: Must meet all regulatory criteria to obtain and maintain a CREW badge designation and be enrolled in Rap Back.
Preferred: 500 hours in a fixed-wing turbine aircraft.
Preferred: Successfully completed all aspects of a Southwest Destination 225° pathway program.
Preferred: Actively flying fixed-wing turbine for the last 3 years.
Preferred: Turbine Pilot In Command (TPIC) time.
Preferred: 121 airline, military, and/or U.S. based flight experience.
Preferred: B-737 type rating.
Preferred: Demonstrated history of operational excellence in training and flight experience.
Note on flight time: Simulator, WSO, RIO, FE, NAV, EWO, and UAV time are not included. PIC time is defined as Captain or Aircraft Commander of record.

Physical Abilities

Must be able to lift and move 40 lbs.
Ability to communicate and interact with others in English.
Ability to bend, stand, and sit for extended periods.
