Overview of the Position

Amentum is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Officer (Co-Pilot) to serve as the Pilot Second in Command (SIC) aboard B737-600 Next Generation (NG) aircraft in support of critical operations based in Las Vegas, Nevada. This pivotal role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient transportation of passengers and cargo, demanding exceptional technical proficiency and rigorous adherence to international and federal aviation regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

The First Officer is responsible for executing all flight duties as directed by the Pilot in Command (PIC) and maintaining the highest standards of operational safety and procedural compliance. Key responsibilities include:

• Serving as Pilot Second in Command (SIC) of the B737-600NG aircraft, efficiently executing the transport of both passengers and critical cargo.
• Providing comprehensive support to the Pilot in Command (PIC) and immediately assuming the responsibilities and duties of the PIC should incapacitation occur.
• Maintaining ultimate responsibility for the safety and security of all passengers, crew, cargo, and the aircraft throughout all phases of flight.
• Ensuring strict compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), organizational policies, and Air Traffic Control (ATC) directives.
• Successfully executing flight duties, serving alternately as Pilot Flying (PF) and Pilot Monitoring (PM), utilizing sophisticated aircraft controls and navigation systems.
• Conducting thorough pre-flight preparations, including meticulous review of maintenance logs, planned routes, current weather reports and forecasts, Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs), and Pilot Information Files (PIFs).
• Maintaining continuous familiarity with essential operational documents, including the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the Airman’s Information Manual (AIM), the manufacturer’s Flight Crew Operations Manual (FCOM), Flight Crew Training Manual (FCTM), Quick Reaction Handbook (QRH), Customer Site Procedures Manual (SPM), and the Company’s Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
• Accurately computing and verifying aircraft weight and balance data, as well as critical takeoff and landing performance metrics.
• Performing additional position-related duties as assigned or requested by flight management.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Prospective candidates must meet all mandated US DOT 14 CFR requirements for pilots, specifically Parts 60, 61, 67, 117, 120, and 121, including adherence to the age 65 limitation, as amended by the Customer. Required certifications and experience include:

• Possession of a current US DOT/FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a B737 Type rating and no restrictions.
• A minimum logged experience of 1,500 total in-seat flight hours as a crewmember in fixed-wing powered aircraft.
• Must possess and maintain a current US DOD TS/SCI security clearance.
• Must hold a current US DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate (EKG required for applicants over 39 years of age).
• A current US state-issued Driver’s License is required.
• Must possess either a current US Passport or a valid US Birth Certificate.
• Possession of a current US DHS/TSA LAS airport badge is mandatory.
• Ability to maintain training and checking currency as mandated by Company policy and 14 CFR Part 121, as modified by the Customer.

Work Environment and Demands

The role is physically demanding and performed primarily within the cockpit of a jet aircraft—a confined space characterized by high noise levels, extreme temperatures, and low humidity. While the work is largely sedentary, the position requires specific physical actions including walking, bending, stretching, climbing, and the precise manipulation of controls from a seated position. The First Officer must be mentally prepared to manage physical and mental stress arising from potential in-flight emergencies, inclement weather, exposure to turbulence, and high sensory input.

Compensation and Benefits

Amentum offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the specialized nature of this role:

• The hourly starting rate for this position is $50.11 per hour.
