Amentum is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated First Officer (FO) / Pilot Second in Command (SIC) to join its aviation team, operating B737-600NG aircraft for the transport of passengers and cargo. This pivotal role, based in Las Vegas, NV, offers an opportunity to contribute to critical flight operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance within a dynamic environment.
The First Officer / Pilot Second in Command is primarily responsible for assisting the Pilot in Command (PIC) in all phases of flight, with the readiness to assume the PIC's role if required. This includes ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, cargo, and aircraft through meticulous adherence to all applicable regulations, company policies, and Air Traffic Control (ATC) directives. The FO will operate aircraft controls as pilot flying (PF) and execute specified duties as pilot monitoring (PM) during flight operations. Pre-flight duties involve comprehensive reviews of maintenance logs, planned routes, weather reports and forecasts, Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs), and pilot information files (PIFs). Candidates must maintain expert familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the Airman’s Information Manual (AIM), aircraft manufacturer’s manuals (FCOM, FCTM, QRH), the Customer’s Site Procedures Manual (SPM), and the Company’s Flight Operations Manual (FOM), alongside computing precise aircraft weight/balance and takeoff/landing data. The work is performed primarily in the cockpit, a compact space subject to varying environmental conditions including noise, temperature extremes, and potential stressors.
