Solairus Aviation seeks a dedicated and highly skilled full-time Flight Attendant to join its team based in Van Nuys, California (KVNY). This role requires a flexible team player who is committed to providing exceptional, around-the-clock service to passengers. A passion for food and proven culinary skills are essential, with advanced culinary training being a strong preference. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers during all phases of flight, providing a high level of personal service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding service to clients, ensuring passenger safety and comfort throughout the flight.
  • Direct and assist passengers in emergency situations.
  • Administer basic first aid, including CPR, AED, and general first aid, to passengers requiring assistance.
  • Secure the cabin according to federal regulations before takeoff and landing.
  • Reassure passengers during turbulence or other potentially unsettling situations.
  • Conduct pre-flight briefings.
  • Ensure that all necessary supplies, including food, beverages, blankets, reading materials, and emergency equipment, are fully stocked and sufficient for each flight.
  • Procure items specifically requested by passengers.
  • Thoroughly inspect, clean, and stock the cabin, galley, lavatories, and flight deck after each flight.
  • Conduct regular cabin checks to ensure passenger comfort and maintain cleanliness.
  • Complete all pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight documentation accurately.
  • Operate and manage onboard audio and video systems.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Current First Aid Training Certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Corporate Flight Attendant.
  • Flight attendant-specific training from FlightSafety, FACTs, or a similar accredited program is preferred. Annual recurrent training is mandatory. Candidates without formal training may be considered based on other qualifications, but must attend initial training prior to flight assignment. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed FlightSafety, FACTs or similar training within the past 12 months.
  • High degree of technological proficiency.
  • Exceptional flexibility and patience.
  • Demonstrated culinary expertise and formal culinary training.
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing schedule and manage late-night flights.
  • Availability for short-notice assignments (2-3 hour response if on standby).
  • Unrestricted ability to travel worldwide (health and visa status permitting).
  • Capability to deploy for up to 16 consecutive days.
  • Proficiency in the operation of all features of Cabin Management Systems and galley equipment.
  • Competence in operating all cabin features, including berthing seats and divan configuration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Fluency in one or more foreign languages is a strong preference.
  • Experience with young children is preferred.

Specific Requirements:

  • Vision: Correctable to 20/20 or better with glasses or contact lenses; uncorrected vision no worse than 20/20.
  • Hearing/Speaking: Clear speaking ability; adequate hearing for effective communication in person, over the phone, and during flight operations.
  • Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 14 hours, with limited sitting opportunities, and ability to work long hours in various climates.
  • Physical: Ability to climb, stoop, kneel and bend, with the ability to maneuver in tight spaces within the aircraft.
  • Physical: Ability to open/close heavy aircraft doors (up to 130 lbs), write, type, use computer and phone, prepare and serve food and beverages, and repeatedly lift up to 30lbs.

Additional Information:

Compensation for this position ranges from $50,000 to $500,000, dependent on geographical location, experience, aircraft type, job duties, training, and assigned account.
