Essential Responsibilities and Duties

The Challenger 605 Captain serves as the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and is directly accountable for the safe and prudent operation of the Challenger 605 aircraft. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following core duties:

  • Responsible for conducting all flights in complete accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and the policies and procedures of Solairus Aviation.
  • Ensuring the absolute safety of all passengers, crew, and the aircraft during all operational phases.
  • Conducting comprehensive flight preparation, including reviewing the aircraft’s current maintenance status and performing a proper pre-flight inspection aligned with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Performing a complete assessment of weather conditions, air traffic facilities, and potential alternate airports along the intended route of flight.
  • Accurately completing all required trip documentation and administrative paperwork in accordance with current operational procedures.

Minimum Flight Time Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum flight hour requirements to be considered for the Challenger 605 Captain position:

  • Total Flight Time: 3,000 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL) Time: 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land PIC Time: 500 hours
  • Time in Turbo Jet Aircraft: 500 hours
  • Instrument Time: 250 hours

Specific Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal Challenger 605 Captain applicant will possess the following specific certifications and characteristics:

  • Must hold a current Type Rating on the Challenger 605 aircraft or a comparable business jet.
  • A valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate is mandatory.
  • Required to work and operate on an on-call basis, demonstrating schedule flexibility.
  • Commitment to completing mandatory annual ICAO International procedures training.
  • Must maintain primary residence within a two-hour driving proximity of the KBED airport or be willing to successfully relocate to the Bedford, MA area.

Solairus Aviation collects and utilizes salary range information based on market conditions derived from multiple industry sources. Compensation for Solairus crewmembers varies significantly based on factors such as geographic area, experience level, equipment type/aircraft, specific job duties, required training, and the assigned account. The estimated salary range for Solairus crewmembers is between $50,000 and $500,000 annually.
