The Pilot, holding the rank of Captain, bears ultimate responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, ensuring the safety and well-being of both crew and passengers. This includes confirming the aircraft's airworthiness and mission readiness, carefully evaluating weather conditions, and diligently adhering to all pertinent regulations and air traffic control procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensures that the aircraft, weather conditions, flight plan, departure airport facilities, en-route resources, and destination facilities are compliant with operational requirements before each flight.
- Verifies that all required aircraft certificates and manuals are onboard before commencing any flight.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight inspections of the aircraft.
- Supervises the flight crew and oversees the maintenance of company aircraft during flight operations.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of, and adherence to, company regulations, including maintaining current flight experience and strictly following the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Operates the aircraft within the manufacturer's specifications and the company's SOPs.
- Participates in regularly scheduled ground and simulator training, maintaining flight proficiency, and staying current on all flight operations, regulations, and aircraft systems.
- Maintains all required licenses and certificates to meet company and FAA requirements, including meticulously documenting minimum currency requirements in a personal log.
- Loads, secures, and unloads baggage and attends to passenger needs as necessary.
- Performs additional functions as directed by the Chief Pilot, which may fall outside the scope of this job description.
Position Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot Rating (English Proficient).
- FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
- Valid US Passport.
- Minimum of 4,000 total flight hours.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time in multi-engine aircraft.
- Minimum of 150 hours of instrument time (maximum of 50 hours simulated).
- Minimum of 250 hours of night flight time.
- Minimum of 250 hours in make and model.
- Type Rating in company aircraft and current within 12 months, strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a multi-crew environment.
