Captain (or similar based on experience level)
Job Summary:
The Captain is directly responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of all customers and crew, overseeing the successful execution of all assigned flights. This critical role requires a commitment to the highest standards of operational excellence and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures the safe operation of the aircraft and the safety of its occupants and cargo throughout the flight.
- Provides comprehensive briefings to all passengers regarding emergency exits, safety equipment locations, and usage.
- Complies with all operational procedures and checklists as outlined in the Operations Manual.
- Evaluates weather forecasts and reports for the operating area and flight duration to ensure compliance with Company operating minima.
- Determines the acceptability of an aircraft with un-serviceabilities permitted by the Configuration Deviation List (CDL) or Minimum Equipment List (MEL).
- Verifies the serviceability of the aircraft and all required equipment, including emergency equipment.
- Supervises aircraft refueling in the absence of a qualified engineer, focusing on correct fuel grade and quantity, fuel water checks, fire safety, and fuel cap security.
- Confirms that the aircraft mass and balance remain within calculated limits for operating conditions.
- Ensures all flight and cabin crew are properly secured in their allocated seats before take-off and landing.
- Ensures all passengers are properly secured in their seats and cabin baggage is stowed appropriately during taxi, take-off, landing, or whenever deemed necessary (e.g., in turbulent conditions).
- Verifies the completion of the pre-flight inspection.
- Ensures necessary documents and manuals are carried, remain valid, and can be presented to authorized personnel upon request.
- Enforces smoking restrictions for crew and passengers, particularly prohibiting smoking in cargo compartments or areas with non-flame-resistant cargo.
- Maintains regular and effective communication with other departments.
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures regarding data protection, security, and retention.
- Contributes to the development, continuous improvement, and implementation of the organization's risk management approach.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Holds an FAA/JAA license or GCAA qualification (Preferred).
- Holds TRI/TRE qualifications (Preferred).
- Possesses a valid type rating on the relevant Aircraft Type.
- Accumulates a minimum of 5,000 hours total flying time.
- Includes at least 2,500 hours in multi-jet engine aircraft.
- Holds a minimum of 1,000 hours command time on Type or equivalent as Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Demonstrates familiarity with relevant sections of the Company Operations Manual necessary for the role.
- Holds an Academic Diploma in Aviation or Business Administration, with a University Degree preferred.
- Possesses an accident and violation-free flying record.
- Successfully completed the Command Course.
- Is familiar with relevant UAE and International air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures.
- Has VIP flight experience.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits strong planning, organizing, and integration skills.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Shows strong organizational commitment.
- Maintains meticulous attention to detail.
