First Officer - Join Our Crew at Republic Airways
Republic Airways, one of North America's largest regional airlines, seeks dedicated and safety-oriented individuals to join our team as First Officers. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, we operate a fleet of over 200 Embraer 170/175 aircraft, providing scheduled passenger service to over 80 cities across the U.S. and Canada under the American Eagle, Delta Connection, and United Express brands.
As a First Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our flights. Working closely with the Captain, your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of flight preparation and execution, including:
- Pre-flight planning and aircraft inspection: Collaborate with the Captain to develop comprehensive flight plans, incorporating weather data, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to verify aircraft airworthiness in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company standards.
- Fuel planning and load management: Assist in determining appropriate fuel loads to ensure safe and compliant flight operations. Complete load manifests, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to regulations.
- Safe and efficient aircraft operation: Execute flight duties as directed by the Captain, adhering to FARs, company policies, and standard operating procedures. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems, emergency procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Effective communication and situational awareness: Communicate effectively with the Captain, crew members, air traffic control, and passengers. Proactively monitor weather conditions and operational factors that may impact flight safety and communicate relevant information to the flight crew and passengers as needed.
- Professionalism and Customer Service: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Adhere to the company uniform dress code and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills when interacting with passengers, crew members, and ground staff.
To excel in this role, you must possess:
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Meet the minimum FAA and company requirements for an ATP or RATP certificate (ATP written preferred).
- A strong understanding of FARs, aviation regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
- Superior problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly under pressure and in time-sensitive situations.
- The physical stamina to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with frequent travel and potential for overnight stays.
