EMB-120 Second in Command (SIC)

Berry Aviation is seeking a professional and safety-oriented EMB-120 Second in Command (SIC) to join our on-demand cargo flight operations. The successful candidate will support the Pilot in Command (PIC) during two-pilot crew operations and remain prepared to assume PIC duties in the event of incapacitation. This position offers a competitive compensation package of $70,000 – $90,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Second in Command, reporting directly to the assigned Pilot in Command.
  • Assist in passenger and cargo loading while ensuring all cargo and support equipment are airworthy and properly secured per company policy.
  • Execute TSA procedures as outlined in the company’s Twelve-Five Standard Security Program.
  • Perform accurate weight and balance calculations and aircraft performance analysis.
  • Obtain local weather briefings and ATC clearances to prepare the cockpit according to standard operating procedures.
  • Support the Pilot in Command in flight operations, including hands-on flying as directed.
  • Maintain on-call availability with the ability to arrive at the assigned aircraft within 60 minutes.
  • Complete all required company initial and recurrent training and testing.

Required Qualifications

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine Instrument privileges.
  • Minimum 500 hours total flight time in airplanes.
  • Minimum 25 hours multi-engine flight time in airplanes.
  • Valid U.S. Passport or the ability to obtain one.
  • Current FAA First Class Medical certificate.
  • Valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (RR) or the ability to obtain one.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relocate within 30 minutes of the assigned domicile.
  • Ability to travel away from domicile for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • 1000 hours total flight time in airplanes.
  • 100 hours multi-engine flight time in airplanes.
  • Undergraduate degree.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate within confined spaces.
  • Capacity to manipulate, push, pull, and lift heavy objects exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Ability to reach, stretch, and twist within confined cockpit environments.
  • Tolerance for working in extreme temperatures and varying altitudes.
