First Officer Position at Lynden Air Cargo
Lynden Air Cargo, a US Part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking an experienced First Officer to join its team. The company operates a fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft, transporting mail, freight, and other commercial goods within Alaska and globally. Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures outlined in Lynden Air Cargo's Employee Handbook, LAC GOM, and applicable CFRs.
- Assist the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of flights, the safety of cargo, crew members, and the aircraft.
- Collaborate with the PIC to ensure proper aircraft equipment and adherence to regulations, preventing reckless or careless operation.
- Assist with loading and unloading activities as needed.
- Travel globally to support Lynden Air Cargo's fleet operations.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and prioritize safety in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required, college degree preferred.
- Minimum 5,000 hours of experience as a pilot or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- International or Alaska experience is preferred.
- Excellent reading, analysis, and interpretation skills of technical procedures, professional journals, governmental regulations, and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to write reports and accurately record information into flight records.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting information effectively and responding to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to perform calculations such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Demonstrated ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills to handle situations and multiple problems simultaneously in a highly controlled and regulated environment.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Availability for workday, evening, weekend, night, or holiday shifts, including extended periods away from home.
- Willingness to travel to domestic and international locations without restrictions, including access to foreign military bases.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (or completion of ATP-CTP and required aeronautical experience)
- Multi-engine Rating
- Class I Medical Certificate
- Simulator Flight Evaluation
- Current Driver License
- Current US Passport
