Position Summary:

George J. Priester Aviation is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Gulfstream 500 Captain to join a dedicated three-pilot flight department. Based in Loveland, CO (FNL), this account supports a state-of-the-art G500 aircraft with an anticipated annual flight schedule of approximately 150 hours.

The Pilot in Command (PIC) holds ultimate responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned aircraft, strictly adhering to all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and operational procedures. This pivotal role requires comprehensive management of all facets of flight preparation and execution, encompassing expert crew coordination, meticulous risk management, and superior passenger service. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, profound technical expertise, and a steadfast focus on safety and customer satisfaction. The PIC serves as the final authority on all decisions pertaining to the aircraft and its operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Flight Operations: Acts as the Pilot in Command, assuming final authority and responsibility for the safe operation of the aircraft on all assigned flights. Ensures full compliance with all FAA regulations, company flight operations manuals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Pre-flight Planning: Conducts thorough and accurate pre-flight planning, including detailed weather analysis, precise performance calculations, optimal routing, accurate fuel planning, and comprehensive aircraft airworthiness checks. Ensures all flight preparations align with company and regulatory standards.
  • Crew Resource Management (CRM): Maintains an exceptionally high standard of crew coordination and communication across all phases of flight. Leads the flight crew in performing duties in a professional, efficient, and cooperative manner, actively fostering a strong culture of teamwork and safety.
  • Passenger Service: Provides the highest level of customer service, ensuring the utmost safety, comfort, and satisfaction of passengers. Serves as the primary point of contact for clients during the flight, expertly addressing any concerns or special requests.
  • Safety Management: Actively engages in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS), proactively promoting a robust safety culture. Identifies and effectively mitigates risks utilizing established risk analysis tools, and participates in safety audits and corrective action processes.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Mentors and guides First Officers and other flight crew members. Ensures all crew members fully understand their roles and responsibilities, providing clear direction and constructive feedback to foster professional growth and development.
  • Post-flight Duties: Accurately completes all required post-flight documentation, including comprehensive trip reports, detailed logbook entries, and any necessary maintenance or operational notes. Promptly reports any safety concerns or equipment issues to the maintenance team.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures that all flight operations comply with FAA regulations, including maintaining absolute currency with required training, medical certifications, and company policies. Keeps flight crew records meticulously up to date.

Qualifications:

  • Required Flight Experience:
    • Minimum 5000 total flight hours.
    • Minimum 2500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
    • Minimum 2500 hours multi-engine land, with 1500 hours as multi-engine PIC.
    • Minimum 2000 hours in turbine aircraft.
    • Minimum 500 hours instrument time.
  • Required Certifications:
    • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multi-engine land rating.
    • Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
  • Skills:
    • Strong, in-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, flight planning principles, and safety management systems.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to make sound, critical decisions under pressure.
    • Proficiency in the use of flight planning and aviation management software.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Previous experience in Part 135 operations is highly desirable.
