Position Overview:
A Gulfstream G500 Captain (Pilot in Command - PIC) is sought for a dedicated Part 91 flight operation based in Fort Collins/Loveland, CO (FNL). This role supports a Gulfstream G500 aircraft as part of a three-pilot flight department, which also includes a Flight Attendant and Aircraft Maintenance Manager. The operation anticipates approximately 200 flight hours per year. The Captain holds ultimate responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned aircraft, ensuring strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and operational standards. The position requires comprehensive management of flight preparation and execution, emphasizing crew coordination, effective risk management, and exemplary passenger service. The Captain is expected to demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical proficiency, a strong focus on safety, and a commitment to superior customer service, acting as the final authority on all matters concerning the aircraft and its operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pilot in Command, maintaining final authority and responsibility for the safe conduct of all assigned flights.
- Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, company flight operations manuals, and established standard operating procedures.
- Perform meticulous pre-flight planning, encompassing detailed weather analysis, performance calculations, routing, fuel planning, and thorough aircraft airworthiness checks.
- Uphold high standards of Crew Resource Management (CRM), fostering effective communication and cooperation among the flight crew.
- Lead the flight crew in performing duties professionally and efficiently, promoting a culture of teamwork and safety.
- Deliver the highest level of customer service to passengers, prioritizing their safety, comfort, and satisfaction.
- Actively participate in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS), promoting a proactive safety culture, identifying and mitigating risks, and contributing to safety audits.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to First Officers and other flight crew members, ensuring role clarity and supporting professional development.
- Complete all necessary post-flight documentation, including trip reports, logbook entries, and reporting maintenance or operational issues.
- Maintain regulatory compliance, ensuring currency with required training, medical certificates, and company policies, and keeping flight crew records current.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5000 total flight hours.
- Minimum of 2500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Minimum of 2500 hours multi-engine land, including at least 1500 hours as multi-engine PIC.
- Minimum of 2000 hours in turbine aircraft.
- Minimum of 500 hours instrument time.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multi-engine land rating is required.
- Current First-Class Medical Certificate is required.
- Corporate jet experience is required.
- Previous international flying experience in large cabin aircraft is highly desirable.
- GVII type rating is preferred.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of FAA regulations, flight planning, and safety management systems.
- Proven excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in the use of flight planning and aviation management software.
