Pilot in Command (PIC) - Gulfstream 500

Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a subsidiary of NetJets, is seeking qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) candidates for a Gulfstream 500 aircraft. This position is based in Bedford, MA (KBED) and operates under Part 91. The crew are employed directly by the aircraft owner, not EJM. This account operates approximately 350 flight hours annually, with up to 20% international operations. The account also supports a Gulfstream 800 and an AW139.

Purpose of Position

The Pilot in Command (PIC) holds final responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. The PIC ensures adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safe operation of flights, including compliance with crewing and trip assignments.
  • Completes flight planning, performance, and weight and balance calculations.
  • Utilizes Threat, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology for briefings and risk mitigation.
  • Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel.
  • Serves as Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator per company policy.
  • Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks and records discrepancies in accordance with SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures aircraft ground servicing items are accomplished per SOPs.
  • Conducts passenger briefings in accordance with policy and regulations, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Applies Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for effective communication during all operational phases.
  • Delivers quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities for service enhancement.
  • Collaborates with crew members and EJM internal partners for a consistent service experience.
  • Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
  • Complies with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports concerns through appropriate channels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
  • FAA Type Rating in applicable fleet: GV and/or GVI.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Total Flight Time: 3500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
  • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
  • PIC MEL: 500 hours
  • Instrument: 300 hours
  • Jet: 500 hours
  • Must reside within a two-hour drive of KBED (Bedford, MA).

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $220,000 - $330,000 for Large/Heavy/Premium cabin aircraft.
