Second in Command (SIC) - Gulfstream G500
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and pioneer in aircraft management and jet charter services since 1977, is seeking a qualified Second in Command (SIC) for a Gulfstream G500 operation. Based in Bedford, Massachusetts (KBED), this role supports a fleet including the G500, G800, and a helicopter under Part 91 regulations.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will join a team of seven pilots and three maintenance technicians. The operation averages 350 flight hours annually with approximately 20% international travel. Note: While managed by EJM, flight crew members are employed directly by the aircraft owner’s company. Candidates must reside within or be willing to relocate to a two-hour radius of KBED. Preference is given to local candidates with Gulfstream 500 rating.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure passenger safety, comfort, and welfare, with a focus on cabin safety and service.

Support the Pilot in Command (PIC) on all trips and perform delegated duties.

Maintain proficiency in abnormal and emergency procedures.

Perform pilot duties in accordance with the Company GOM, FAA Regulations, and Operations Specifications.

Coordinate schedules with the Chief Pilot and report all flight/duty times.

Oversee post-flight interior duties, including catering management and equipment inspection.

Contribute to the Safety Management System (SMS) through proactive reporting.
Minimum Requirements

Total Flight Time: 2,500 hours

Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours

Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours

Instrument: 150 hours

Jet: 250 hours

Turbine Engine: 100 hours

Time in Type: 50 hours

Valid First Class Medical Certificate.

Must obtain a FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet type.

Compensation
Base Salary Range (Large/Heavy/Premium): $180,000 – $270,000.
