PC-12 First Officer

PlaneSense is seeking a qualified PC-12 First Officer to serve as Second-In-Command, supporting the Captain in all phases of flight operations. This role requires adaptability to a dynamic flight schedule and a comprehensive understanding of aviation principles and company procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Captain in reviewing weather and NOTAMs.
  • Verify and cross-check flight information.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies.
  • Conduct preflight aircraft inspections.
  • Maintain aircraft cleanliness and readiness.
  • Update navigation databases and charts.
  • Obtain IFR clearances.
  • Load passenger luggage.
  • Provide a high-quality, professional customer service experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate, Single-Engine Land (SEL) with an instrument rating.
  • Valid 1st or 2nd class medical certificate.
  • 750 hours of total flight time.
  • Excellent instrument flight rules (IFR) knowledge.
  • Superior flying ability, particularly in challenging conditions.
  • Superior customer service and communication skills.
  • Current passport with unrestricted international travel privileges.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1000 hours of total flight time or greater.
  • 75+ hours of instrument time.
  • Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII) certification.

Highly Qualified Candidates May Possess:

  • Experience in corporate or charter operations (Part 135 or Part 91 Subpart K).
  • Familiarity with technically advanced aircraft (TAA).
  • Experience in turbine aircraft, particularly the PC-12.
  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated history of leadership in aviation roles (e.g., Safety Officer, Lead Flight Instructor, Chief Pilot).
  • Military-trained pilot experience, especially with tactical or mission-oriented flight backgrounds.

Computer Skills:

  • Familiarity with technically advanced aircraft (TAA) and advanced aircraft systems.

Selection Process:

  • Application Screening.

  • In-person interview, including a flight simulator evaluation.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 12+ hours) in a confined cockpit.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate flight controls, avionics, and communication equipment.
  • Ability to reach, bend, and twist inside and outside the aircraft cockpit.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, and turn with items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to efficiently respond to in-flight situations and execute emergency procedures.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to perform duties in various weather conditions and time constraints.
  • Potential exposure to dust, fumes, odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, bright lights, fuel, deice/anti-ice fluids, and other HAZMAT classified items.
  • Regular verbal and written communication required.
  • Primarily in an aircraft cockpit, often in confined spaces with limited mobility.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, including turbulence and extreme temperatures.
  • Frequent travel, including overnight layovers and irregular schedules.
  • High-altitude environment with changes in cabin pressure.
  • Long hours with potential for fatigue, adhering to FAA rest and duty regulations.
  • Interaction with co-pilots, crew members, air traffic controllers, and passengers.
