Overview
Air Methods, a leader in the air medical industry, is seeking a highly skilled and professional Fixed Wing Pilot (PC12 IFR) to join the Mercy Air team. This role is dedicated to providing 24/7 air medical transport resources with a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and team culture. The position is based in North Las Vegas, offering a dynamic work environment in the heart of the Mojave Desert.
Job Summary
The Fixed Wing Pilot is responsible for the safe and legal operation of the aircraft. Duties include ensuring the aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy, transporting medical crews and patients to receiving facilities, and maintaining full compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and the General Operations Manual (GOM).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.

Perform comprehensive pre-flight inspections, including verification of airworthiness via Daily Flight Log sign-off and exterior walk-arounds.

Maintain final authority regarding aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all aircraft and medical systems, ensuring medical flight teams are familiar with the interior and operational systems.

Execute detailed flight planning with minimal notice to exacting standards.

Complete all required documentation accurately.

Participate in company meetings, committees, and community outreach.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
-
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with 2–5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Pilots must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
IFR Program Requirements
-
2,500 total flight hours with a minimum of 2,000 flight hours in category.

1,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in category.
-
500 hours of cross-country flight time (minimum 50 hours night).
-
500 hours of turbine time.

100 hours of night flight time.
-
100 hours of flight in actual instrument conditions in category.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
-
Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft (ATP rating in category satisfies this requirement).

Fixed wing multiengine rating (for twin-engine aircraft) or Commercial single-engine land (for single-engine aircraft).

First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate.
Operational Requirements

Must maintain a weight not to exceed 250 pounds.
-
Must be under 70 years of age.

Commitment to a 7/7 schedule with 12-hour shifts.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range:
$91,820 – $102,576 (base salary) with 110% ACCRA.
Additional Compensation:
-
Experience Stipend: Up to $12,000
-
Performance/Role Stipend: $30,000

Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
