Overview
Air Methods is seeking a skilled and professional Temporary Fixed Wing Pilot to join our high-performing EMS Air Ambulance team in Farmington, New Mexico. The successful candidate will operate PC12 (IFR) aircraft, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of medical crews and patients. $50,000 Base Stipend

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
-
Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual (GOM) guidelines.

Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, including complete aircraft walk-arounds and verification of airworthiness via the Daily Flight Log.

Serve as the final authority regarding aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Maintain proficiency in all aircraft and medical systems, ensuring medical flight teams are properly oriented to the aircraft interior.

Execute detailed flight planning with limited notice to meet exacting standards.

Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Participate in company meetings, committees, projects, and community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience and Skills:
-
Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months.

Proven ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, and the public.

Must maintain a weight not to exceed 250 pounds and be under 70 years of age.
Required Flight Times (Fixed Wing IFR):

2,500 total flight hours (minimum 2,000 hours in category)

1,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in category
-
500 hours cross-country flight time
-
500 hours Fixed Wing Turbine time

100 hours night flight time

100 hours of actual instrument conditions in category
Certificates and Education:
-
Commercial & Instrument Rating (for category and class of aircraft); ATP rating in category is acceptable.

First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school with 2–5 years of related experience; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Schedule:
Regular attendance is required on a 7 days on/7 days off (12-hour shifts) rotation.

Compliance:
This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause, and post-accident).
