Fixed Wing Pilot - North Platte, NE
Position Overview
Air Methods is seeking an exceptional and safety-conscious Fixed Wing Pilot to join our team in North Platte, Nebraska. As a leader in the air medical industry, Air Methods provides critical transport resources 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The successful candidate will operate PC12 (IFR) aircraft, ensuring the safety of patients and medical crews while maintaining a high-performing, collaborative culture.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, maintaining final authority regarding aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, including walk-arounds and verification of airworthiness via the Daily Flight Log.

Ensure the medical flight team is thoroughly familiar with medical interiors and aircraft systems.

Perform detailed flight planning to exacting standards with limited notice.

Maintain compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual (GOM) guidelines.

Complete all required documentation accurately.

Engage in company meetings, activities, committees, and community outreach.
Qualifications

Education:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:
Two to five years of related experience. Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.

Flight Requirements:
2500 total flight hours; 2000 flight hours in category; 1000 hours PIC in category; 500 hours of cross-country flight time (50 at night); 500 hours of turbine time; 100 hours of night flight time; 100 hours of actual instrument conditions in category.

Certifications:
Instrument rating (for category and class); Fixed wing multiengine rating (for twin-engine); Commercial single-engine land (for single-engine); First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate.

Physical Requirements:
Must maintain a weight not to exceed 250 pounds and be under the age of 70.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range:
$82,900 – $93,251 per year, based on flight and EMS experience.

Incentives:
$30,000 stipend, $3,000 IFR stipend, up to $12,000 experience stipend, and a $15,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule
This is a regular full-time position requiring a 7 days on/7 days off schedule (12-hour shifts).
