Job Overview
Air Methods is seeking an experienced, professional Fixed Wing Pilot to join our team in Yakima, WA. As a leader in the air medical industry, we are dedicated to providing life-saving transport resources 24/7. The successful candidate will operate our PC12 (IFR) aircraft, ensuring the safety of medical crews and patients while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.
Responsibilities

Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner in compliance with FAR, AIM, and GOM guidelines.

Perform comprehensive pre-flight inspections and sign off on the Daily Flight Log.

Exercise final authority regarding aircraft operations and the safety of all passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems; ensure medical flight teams are familiar with the interior and systems.

Conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice to meet exacting standards.

Complete all required documentation accurately.

Participate in company meetings, committees, and community outreach.

Maintain a 7/7 work schedule consisting of 12-hour shifts.
Qualifications
Education & Experience

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Two to five years of related experience and/or training.

Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
Flight Hour Requirements
-
IFR Program:
2500 total flight hours; 2000 hours in category; 1000 hours PIC in category; 500 hours cross-country (50 night); 500 hours turbine time; 100 hours night flight; 100 hours actual instrument conditions in category.

ALNW Requirements:
2500 total flight hours; 2500 hours in category; 150 hours night flight; 300 hours actual instrument conditions in category; 50 hours in make and model.
Certifications & Physical Requirements

Instrument rating (category and class); Commercial single-engine land rating; Multiengine rating required for twin-engine aircraft.

First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.

Weight must not exceed 250 lbs; must be under 70 years of age.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range:
$82,900 – $93,251 per year (based on experience).
Additional Compensation:

$15,000 Sign-On Bonus

Experience Stipend: Up to $12,000
