Perimeter Aviation LP, a subsidiary of Exchange Income Corporation with a rich history since 1960, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Dash 8 Captain. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a company that connects communities and prioritizes safety, service, and teamwork. Operating a fleet of over 40 aircraft, including Dash 8s, the company provides essential services such as scheduled passenger and cargo flights, medevac operations, and charters across North America. This position is based in various locations including Winnipeg, Thompson, Timmins, and Toronto.
Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the Dash 8 Captain will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, ensuring their comfort, and maintaining on-time performance. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual who is able to work both independently and as part of a team. This pilot must demonstrate a commitment to safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate is fluent in English and possesses a high degree of flexibility, enabling them to respond swiftly in a dynamic environment. They maintain a professional and respectful demeanor, exhibiting a positive work attitude and commitment to punctuality. The candidate should possess effective verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, business partners, and customers. Additionally, strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, as well as the ability to handle stressful situations effectively, are essential. A high level of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and a deep respect for First Nations communities are paramount.
The Dash 8 Captain will conduct flights in strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, the Aircraft Flight Manual, and the Company Operations Manual. Responsibilities include conducting pre-flight inspections, reviewing operational flight plans, determining fuel and oil requirements, calculating weight and balance, and completing post-flight duties. The Captain will also load and secure cargo as needed. Furthermore, the candidate will ensure that they continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada Qualification standards.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to obtain and maintain required transportation security clearances. A Category 1 Medical Certificate, a current Group 1 Instrument Rating, and an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with 500 hours on DHC-8 aircraft are mandatory. Previous airline experience is considered an asset, along with Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training. Proficiency in both verbal and written English is also required.
The position requires travel by aircraft and other means as needed. The candidate must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and adhere to a flexible schedule with extended travel periods is also required.
