Captain, Business Aviation (Pilot-in-Command)
Overview
Pentastar Aviation is seeking a highly experienced and safety-oriented Captain to serve as Pilot-in-Command for its elite business aviation operations. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the utmost safety, comfort, and timely execution of flights for distinguished passengers and crew. The Captain will lead flight operations with uncompromising adherence to FAA Regulations and Pentastar Aviation's stringent Part 91 Flight Operations Manual (FOM), fostering an environment of professionalism and operational excellence. This position demands exceptional leadership, Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills, superior customer service, and the ability to make critical, informed decisions regarding flight planning, potential delays, rerouting, or cancellations. When not engaged in flight duties, the Captain will contribute to general departmental responsibilities, supporting the overall efficiency of aviation operations. Expected annual flight time is approximately 250 hours, with clients typically providing at least 48 hours' notice for trip assignments.
Key Responsibilities
The Captain, Business Aviation (Pilot-in-Command), will be entrusted with:
- Executing safe, efficient, and punctual flights for private VIP operations.
- Supervising the flight crew and ensuring meticulous aircraft readiness for all scheduled missions.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication channels with operations and maintenance personnel.
- Conducting comprehensive performance and flight planning, optimizing routes and operational parameters.
- Ensuring the accurate maintenance of all financial and operational records pertinent to each flight.
- Cultivating a collaborative and high-performing crew environment that promotes teamwork and strives for continuous excellence.
- Adhering strictly to rest requirements and maintaining peak physical and mental fitness for all flight duties.
Qualifications
Candidates for this esteemed position must possess a robust professional background, demonstrating the following qualifications:
- A valid US FAA Air Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certification.
- A minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time.
- Extensive experience operating large cabin Gulfstream aircraft.
- Current and qualified, or prior experience with, a Gulfstream GIV type rating is highly preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in managing a dynamic work schedule.
- The capability to report to the aircraft within two (2) hours of initial notification.
- An impeccable record, free from any accidents, incidents, or violations.
- The ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted commercial pilot travel to and from Canada.
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must hold a US passport or possess legal authorization to work in the United States as a resident.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality regarding client information and Pentastar Aviation operations.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a two-pilot crew, fulfilling co-captain duties as assigned or required.
