Position Overview

The Flight Operations Planner is responsible for the full lifecycle of the monthly pilot award process, encompassing planning, analysis, execution, and stakeholder communication. This role requires high attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. The Planner collaborates cross-functionally with Workforce Planning, Pairings, Crew Scheduling, the Flight Training Center, and pilot union representatives to support operational integrity and provide analytical insights to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-test monthly schedule production scenarios to ensure trip legality and optimize reserve distribution by fleet.
  • Manage the monthly pilot schedule production process, including adjustments to assignments and reserve coverage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and union representatives to ensure plan accuracy and execute base optimization.
  • Perform monthly schedule scenario testing to assess solvability.
  • Execute the post-award Preferential Bidding System (PBS) process, including dispute resolution and schedule repair.
  • Conduct monthly lookback analyses and report findings to senior leadership regarding award outcomes and performance metrics.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and self-motivation with the ability to identify data-driven root causes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with team members, pilots, and labor representatives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams for problem-solving and peer development.
  • Advanced analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, data analysis, and strategic decision-making.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of an interview process.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Aviation/Aeronautics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of optimization software.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $66,500.00 to $86,616.00, dependent on factors such as experience, education, and skills. This role is eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
