Effective January 1, 2025, the base salary range is $89,716.69 - $97,588.81. The total compensation is approximately $115,489.02 to $125,056.20 per annum.

Rotor Wing Pilots are entrusted with the comprehensive responsibility for all aspects of aircraft operation. The role demands the ability to fly in diverse conditions, manage pressure effectively, and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. As Ornge aircraft serve as province-wide resources, aviation personnel may be required to support operations from bases other than their assigned home base based on demand.
All Ornge pilots are required to successfully complete the company’s specialized training program and pass a Transport Canada Pilot Proficiency Check (PPC). Adherence to all applicable policies and Standard Operating Procedures is paramount. The Second-in-Command (SIC) supports the Pilot-in-Command in flight planning and aircraft preparation, executing assigned duties to ensure safe and efficient aircraft operation.
Desirable Qualifications:
NOTE: Candidates lacking a Group 4 Instrument Rating and/or a Night Rating may receive a conditional offer of employment. This offer will be contingent upon the successful completion of all requirements for the issuance of a Transport Canada Group 4 Instrument Rating and/or Night Rating, as detailed in the Commercial Air Service Standard (CASS) 421.42 (2) and 421.46 (2) (a) (b). Upon successful completion of employment and all company training, employees will be reimbursed up to a maximum of $30,000.00 CAD for the training required for the issuance of the Transport Canada Group 4 Instrument Rating and/or Night Rating. This reimbursement is divided into two payments: up to $15,000.00 CAD after one year of service, and an additional $15,000.00 CAD after two years of service.
Pilots are required to work flexible schedules, including various shifts and overtime, encompassing day and night operations, weekends, and statutory holidays within a 24/7 environment. During their duty shifts, Pilots may be required to overnight away from their designated home base.
Successful candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within close proximity to their assigned base location. This proximity is essential to comply with CARs rest requirements between shifts and to ensure timely arrival at the assigned base within one and a half hours of callout when on an on-call shift.
Employees may be required to use respiratory protective equipment. Cooperation in achieving an effective fit for such equipment is expected, including maintaining a clean-shaven appearance to ensure an effective facial seal for the health and safety of all personnel.
