Overview: Executive Jet Management

Position Purpose

Executive Jet Management is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Pilot in Command position operating a G450 aircraft based in Houston, TX (KCXO). This is a dedicated two-pilot aircraft account, supported by a Maintenance Technician, operating under Part 135 regulations. EJM is excited to bring this meticulously maintained aircraft into its managed fleet, adding a significant asset to its Part 135 certificate. The aircraft is estimated to fly approximately 300 hours annually, with around 200 hours dedicated to retail charter. Frequent destinations include major hubs such as Los Angeles, Miami, Salt Lake City, and various locations throughout the Caribbean.

This is a non-commutable position; candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Houston area. Consideration will also be given to applicants residing within a three-hour driving radius of Conroe (KCXO), including those in the Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth areas. A G450 or V550 type rating is strongly preferred.

The Pilot in Command assumes ultimate responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. This role requires strict adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to clients and passengers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

The Pilot in Command leads the success of the flight department and ensures the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft while providing superior customer service. Responsibilities include:

Leading Flight Department Success:

  • Managing key client relationships and effectively balancing client needs with EJM's operational requirements.
  • Proactively communicating to address current or potential issues or opportunities.
  • Collaborating closely with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events and completion of regular tasks (e.g., database updates, audits, checklists).
  • Performing other duties associated with aircraft account management, including invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew scheduling in accordance with defined expectations.
  • Supporting fellow flight department crew members, clarifying tasks, motivating them to achieve flight department goals, and representing the EJM brand.
  • Reporting concerns or issues to the Regional Chief Pilot.
  • Handling flight department administrative matters, such as managing office and aircraft supplies, subscriptions, and coordinating crew schedules and communication.

Ensuring Safe Operation of Flight:

  • Verifying crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Completing comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
  • Utilizing the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to conduct required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
  • Strictly complying with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating with company personnel as necessary.
  • Acting as the Ground Security Coordinator and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
  • Completing all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including assessing the maintenance status, to ensure the aircraft is mission capable.
  • Recording all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
  • Monitoring and ensuring completion of all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) in accordance with SOPs.
  • Conducting thorough passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation.
  • Delivering the highest level of customer service and accommodating special passenger needs, including those who are physically challenged.
  • Effectively utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.

Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:

  • Providing quality service to owners and passengers and identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
  • Regularly investigating and resolving service deviations.
  • Collaborating with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent service experience for owners and passengers.
  • Resolving conflict and challenges effectively and professionally.

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:

  • Maintaining all required regulatory and company training and ensuring recency of experience.
  • Complying with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Ensuring all crew members remain qualified to perform their assigned duties in accordance with regulations and company policy.
  • Ensuring all crew members comply with company policies and that appropriate audits are in place.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Prior experience flying under Part 135 regulations is required.
  • Residency in or ability to relocate to the Houston-Conroe area is strongly preferred.
  • Applicants residing within a three-hour driving distance to KCXO (Conroe), including those in the Austin (AUS) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) areas, are encouraged to apply.
  • A G450 or V550 type rating is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions associated with the position.
  • Minimum flight time requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours
