Position Summary
The Senior Captain, operating under Part 91 regulations, serves as the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for all assigned flights. This individual is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of flight assignments, with an unwavering emphasis on safety, security, and quality. The PIC authority ensures compliance with all operational policies and procedures as directed by the Director of Operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 3,500 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- Minimum of 500 hours Turbine flight time.
- Minimum of 100 hours Night flight time.
- Minimum of 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- A minimum of 10 years of comprehensive aviation experience.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restriction.
- Valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate aircraft, determining optimal departure times, routes, and making necessary flight cancellations based on weather or other critical conditions.
- Ensure all flights are conducted in strict adherence to federal, local, company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate aircraft scheduling and crew member training with the flight crew and Dispatcher, utilizing supplemental crew when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance on aircraft servicing, cleaning, and other essential upkeep.
- Oversee the submission and review of flight and duty records, along with all other required documentation by assigned crew members.
- Maintain current aircraft manuals, charts, and electronic flight bags (EFBs), delegating updates as appropriate.
- In partnership with the Director of Operations, coordinate crew member training and check rides according to the annual training calendar.
- Manage crew time off and training schedules while ensuring maximum aircraft availability.
- Verify that flight crew members report for duty in appropriate attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Mentor and coach crew members to foster their professional growth and development.
- Actively participate in staff meetings.
- Provide support to the Director of Operations as requested.
- Contribute to the hiring process for flight crew positions.
- Implement necessary adjustments to flight plans based on en route conditions, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conduct all flights in a safe and prudent manner, aligning with industry and company standards.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all flight aspects with the second in command.
- Document all aircraft discrepancies on the aircraft discrepancy log and report them promptly to the Director of Maintenance or their designee.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of all authorized aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft post-flight, arranging for hangar storage as necessary or instructed.
- Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized aviation agencies.
- File or ensure the filing of flight plans with the FAA or ICAO state Air Traffic Control facilities.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for intended landing airports and alternates.
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or delegate this duty to the second in command.
- Transfer knowledge and skills to the second in command, preparing them for PIC duties in emergency situations or during upgrade opportunities.
- Complete and submit the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Complete and submit the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon conclusion of each flight day.
- Champion the open sharing of information on all safety issues and proactively report safety hazards and concerns.
- Make immediate reports of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- While duties may be delegated, ultimate responsibility for those duties remains with the Pilot in Command.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Represent the Flight Department effectively, both internally and externally, with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the broader aviation network.

The noise level in the hangar environment can be consistently loud and may experience extreme temperatures during different seasons.
Compensation Data
The anticipated salary range for this Senior Captain position is $250,000 - $270,000. This range is an estimate and does not constitute a guarantee of compensation. Actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
