Position Summary and Account Details

Executive Jet Management is actively seeking highly qualified candidates for the critical role of Pilot in Command (PIC) on a Gulfstream G450 aircraft. This full-time position is based in Houston, TX (KCXO - Conroe area) and operates under FAR Part 135 regulations. The assignment is managed as a dedicated two-pilot account and is supported by an assigned Maintenance Technician, ensuring optimal operational readiness.

The G450 typically operates approximately 300 flight hours annually, supporting a balanced mix of retail charter services and owner flight requirements. The operational profile primarily encompasses routes across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, requiring flexibility for occasional trans-Atlantic missions. The Pilot in Command holds the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner, upholding all regulatory mandates while providing an elite level of service.

Residency Requirement: This is designated as a non-commutable position. The successful candidate must either reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the greater Houston-Conroe area. Applicants residing within a three-hour driving distance of KCXO, particularly those based in the Austin (AUS) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) regions, are encouraged to apply.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

The Pilot in Command is expected to manage comprehensive operational and administrative duties, ensuring the seamless and safe function of the flight department.

Operational Safety and Compliance

  • Ensures all crewing and trip assignments adhere strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately completes all essential flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assigned mission.
  • Leads required briefings using the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology to effectively mitigate operational risks.
  • Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to maintain clear, timely communication with crew and support personnel during all operational conditions.
  • Acts as the designated Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator, adhering to company policy.
  • Performs thorough pre-flight tasks, verifying the aircraft's maintenance status and mission capability, and recording all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are accomplished per SOPs.

Flight Department Leadership and Administration

  • Manages important client relationships, balancing owner expectations with EJM’s operational integrity.
  • Proactively communicates to address potential issues or optimize operational opportunities.
  • Collaborates closely with maintenance personnel to ensure full compliance with all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance events.
  • Completes necessary flight department administration, including vendor relations, invoice reviews, charter approvals, database updates, and management of crew schedules.
  • Supports and motivates flight department crew members to achieve organizational goals while rigorously representing the EJM brand.

Service Excellence and Proficiency Maintenance

  • Delivers superior quality service to owners and passengers, identifying and implementing enhancements to the EJM service experience.
  • Conducts comprehensive passenger briefings and accommodates special passenger needs as required by regulation and company policy.
  • Collaborates with internal partners and crew members to maintain a consistent service standard.
  • Maintains full regulatory and company-required training, ensuring current recency of experience.
  • Complies fully with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting all safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.

Required Qualifications and Experience (KSAOs)

Minimum Flight Time Requirements

Candidates must satisfy the following minimum flight hour requirements:

  • Total Flight Time: 3,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
  • Pilot in Command (PIC) Total: 2,000 hours
  • PIC Multi-Engine Land: 500 hours
  • Instrument Flight Time: 300 hours
  • Jet Time: 500 hours

Essential & Preferred Experience

  • Mandatory prior experience operating under FAR Part 135 regulations.
  • A current type rating for the Gulfstream G450, G-V, or G550 is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates without the specific type rating must possess substantial, documented flight time in Large-Cabin Gulfstream aircraft, coupled with extensive international flying experience.
  • The applicant must be able to perform all essential job functions associated with the Pilot in Command role.
