Captain - Search and Rescue (SAR) Challenger 604 Fleet

Leidos Airborne Solutions Australia is seeking experienced Captains to join its Search and Rescue (SAR) fleet, operating Challenger 604 jets under contract with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). This critical role involves leading life-saving missions across Australia’s SAR region, contributing to offshore rescues, emergency response, and humanitarian aid. Responsibilities

  • Command Search and Rescue (SAR) missions in dynamic, time-critical environments.
  • Lead and mentor crew members, ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
  • Operate advanced mission systems with precision and confidence.
  • Oversee aircraft readiness and mission planning.
  • Contribute to the ongoing innovation and enhancement of SAR capabilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Australian ATPL(A) and MEA Instrument Rating.
  • CASA Class 1 Medical.
  • Eligibility for an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).
  • Minimum 3000 hours total flying time.
  • Minimum 1500 hours multi-engine flying time.
  • Minimum 1000 hours command flying time.
  • Jet experience is highly regarded.
  • Ability to reside within 30 minutes of the assigned base when on night standby.
  • Applicants may need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
