Pilot in Command - EMB-550 Aircraft
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) for an EMB-550 aircraft based at Evansville Regional Airport (EVV), Indiana. This Part 91 operation averages 250 flight hours annually, primarily consisting of single-day trips with occasional overnights, predominantly scheduled during weekdays and booked well in advance. This position requires residency within commuting distance of EVV.
Purpose:
The PIC holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the assigned aircraft. This role demands adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional customer service experience.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements for crewing and trip assignments;
- Conducting comprehensive flight planning, including performance calculations and weight and balance;
- Utilizing Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to mitigate operational risks;
- Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating effectively with company personnel;
- Serving as the Grounds and In-Flight Security Coordinator (as defined by company policy);
- Completing all pre-flight aircraft checks, recording discrepancies according to SOPs;
- Monitoring and ensuring adherence to SOPs for all ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen);
- Conducting passenger briefings compliant with company policy and regulations, providing exceptional customer service and accommodating passenger needs;
- Utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for effective communication during all phases of flight.
Delivering Exceptional Service:
- Providing superior service to owners and passengers, proactively identifying and resolving service deviations;
- Collaborating effectively with crew members and EJM internal partners to maintain consistent service excellence;
- Professionally managing conflict resolution.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintaining all necessary regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience;
- Actively participating in the company Safety Management System (SMS) program, promptly reporting safety concerns or non-compliance through established channels.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4-6 years of professional flight experience.
- Prior corporate/business aviation experience preferred.
- FAA Type rating for the EMB-550 aircraft.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements: Total flight time – 3500 hours; Multi-Engine Land (MEL) – 1500 hours; Pilot in Command (PIC) – 2000 hours; PIC MEL – 500 hours; Instrument – 300 hours; Jet – 500 hours.
