Lead Pilot in Command - Challenger 604 - Teterboro, NJ
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and subsidiary of NetJets, is seeking a qualified and experienced Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) for a long-term account operating a Challenger 604 aircraft with Fusion Upgrade. Based at Teterboro, NJ (KTEB), this position offers an exceptional work-life balance operating under Part 91 regulations with predominantly domestic flights. The position is supported by two additional pilots and a dedicated Maintenance Technician. The flight schedule averages approximately 400 hours annually, with monthly scheduled days off. A dedicated Key Account Manager serves as the primary liaison with the aircraft owner.
The Lead Pilot in Command serves as a peer leader within a designated flight department, emphasizing effective crew resource management, exceptional client service, and completion of flight department administrative duties. The Lead PIC actively participates in the flight schedule and fulfills all standard PIC duties and expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Leads Flight Department Success: Manages client relationships, balancing client needs with EJM requirements. Proactively communicates to address issues and opportunities. Collaborates with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all aircraft maintenance events and tasks. Completes administrative duties such as invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew scheduling. Supports and motivates flight department crew members, representing the EJM brand and escalating concerns to the Regional Chief Pilot. Manages flight department administration including supplies, subscriptions, and crew schedules.
- Ensures Safe Operation of Flight: Ensures crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements. Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks. Utilizes Threat, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology for briefings and risk mitigation. Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), acting as Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator. Completes pre-flight inspections, ensuring the aircraft is mission-capable and documenting discrepancies. Monitors and accomplishes aircraft ground servicing. Conducts passenger briefings and caters to special needs. Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for effective communication.
- Delivers Exceptional Service Experience: Provides high-quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities for service enhancement. Investigates and resolves service deviations. Collaborates with crew members and EJM partners to ensure consistent service. Resolves conflicts professionally.
- Maintains Proficiency and Compliance: Maintains regulatory and company-required training and currency. Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and reports safety concerns. Ensures crewmember qualifications and compliance with company policies, implementing appropriate audits.

Qualifications:
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet (Challenger 604).
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
