Airline Pilot / First Officer Job Description

Education
- Candidates must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications and Licenses
Applicants are required to hold or meet the rigorous requirements for the following certifications and licenses:
- A current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or a Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) Certificate, with a multi-engine rating.
- A current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- An FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Successful completion of the FAA ATP written examination is mandatory prior to commencing Indoctrination Training.
Flight Time and Experience Requirements
Prospective pilots must satisfy the comprehensive flight time and experience criteria in accordance with FAA regulations (e.g., 14 CFR 61.160):
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Total Flight Time (Fixed-Wing):
- 1,500 hours of total flight time; or
- 1,250 hours for candidates holding an appropriate university Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate; or
- 1,000 hours for candidates with military pilot qualification or an appropriate university Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate.
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time (greater than 50 nautical miles).
- 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours of night flying with a minimum of 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight; excludes simulator time).
- 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine flight time.
