Salary: $117,500.00 per year

Overview

George J. Priester Aviation is seeking a dedicated Fixed-Wing Air Ambulance Pilot to operate the King Air 200 in support of Flight for Life® Colorado. This role is based in Durango, CO, and focuses on executing critical-care transport missions, including pediatric care, organ transport, and search and rescue operations. The successful candidate will join a reputable team committed to safety, professionalism, and high-quality patient care in a Part 135 and Part 91 environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the King Air 200 as a single-pilot in air ambulance operations.
  • Maintain operational readiness at the Durango, CO facility for critical-care flights.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness and compliance with all FAA and company regulations.
  • Oversee the safe loading of patients, medical equipment, and crew, verifying adherence to weight and balance standards.
  • Coordinate effectively with ground crews and medical personnel to ensure mission success.
  • Contribute to Mayo Aviation’s Safety Management System and adhere to all Flight for Life® procedures.

Requirements

  • Current Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Current First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2,500 hours total flight time.
  • Minimum of 1,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
  • Minimum of 500 hours multi-engine experience.
  • Proven impeccable safety record.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and a valid U.S. passport.
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Must live within one hour of Durango, CO (DRO) or be willing to relocate.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Single-pilot, mountain terrain experience is preferred.
