Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is a fundamental prerequisite for this position.
Certifications and Licenses
Candidates must possess and maintain the following:
- A current FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) certificate.
- A valid FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
- An FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements (KSAOs)
Applicants must meet the stringent requirements for an FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating, in strict accordance with FAR 61.160. Specific criteria include:
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time experience. This requirement may be adjusted to 1,250 hours for candidates holding an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or 1,000 hours for those with military pilot qualification or specific university R-ATP certificates.
- A minimum of 200 hours of cross-country flight time (exceeding 50 nautical miles).
- A minimum of 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- A minimum of 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours of night flying with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- A minimum of 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- A minimum of 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- Completion of the ATP written examination is mandatory prior to the commencement of Indoctrination Training.
- Maintenance of a current FAA First-Class Medical certificate is essential.
- Possession of a valid passport and the demonstrated ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and the unrestricted ability to travel in and out of the country.
