Airline Transport Pilot (ATP/R-ATP)
This role describes the essential qualifications, experience, and competencies required for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) position. Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Certifications and Licenses
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or a Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating, in accordance with FAA 14 CFR 61.160.
- A current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate is mandatory.
- An FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit is required.
Flight Experience and KSAOs (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other)
Candidates must meet or exceed the following flight hour requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Completion of the ATP written examination prior to the commencement of Indoctrination Training.
- Demonstrated total flight time experience:
- 1,500 hours; OR
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate; OR
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification; OR
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate.
- A minimum of 200 hours of cross-country flight time (greater than 50 nautical miles).
- A minimum of 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
- A minimum of 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours of night flying including at least 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- A minimum of 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- A minimum of 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- Possession of a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to travel in and out of the country without restriction.
