Role Summary
The Pilot is responsible for delivering a superior air transportation experience while maintaining an impeccable safety record on every flight. As a primary representative of NetJets, the Pilot provides technically accurate and safe transportation coupled with exceptional service for all Owners and passengers.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe operation of the aircraft throughout all phases of flight, including taxi, take-off, and landing, adhering strictly to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Greet Owners and passengers, conduct introductions, provide detailed briefings on the flight itinerary, weather updates, safety procedures, and explain any itinerary changes.
- Provide courteous in-flight service, including the handling of alcohol and serving catering as required.
- Properly load and secure all baggage on the aircraft.
- Safely conduct flights accommodating Owners with pets and those who smoke.
- Act as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all operational aspects, including compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
- Serve as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from arrival at the FBO until safe landing and departure from the final FBO.
- Accurately communicate any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to NetJets' Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller.
- Complete all necessary paperwork associated with maintenance issues.
- Perform other assigned duties as required, depending on operational needs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Must hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Must hold an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- FAA ATP, Restricted ATP (R-ATP), or eligibility to meet the requirements for FAA ATP or R-ATP certificate with multi-engine rating in accordance with FAR 61.160:
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- 1,500 hours total flight time, OR 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate, OR 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, OR 1,000 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours cross-country flight time (>50 nm).
- 250 hours fixed-wing Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying (or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings).
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excluding simulator time).
- ATP written exam must be completed prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
- Minimum 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- Must possess a valid passport enabling unrestricted international travel.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
- Ability to work varying hours, including day and night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Exceptional flexibility and ability to adapt to rapid changes in schedule and conditions.
- Capacity to manage rest effectively to ensure preparedness for flight duty at all times during a tour.
- Ability to endure duty periods up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days, potentially spanning different time zones and extreme weather conditions.
- Willingness to be away from home for seven or more days/nights while on duty, staying in hotels.
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
- Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
- Must possess a valid State driver's license.
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
- Strong service orientation with a neat, well-groomed appearance and the ability to make a positive impression and effectively interact with passengers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
- Proven ability to make quick, accurate decisions while maintaining attention to detail in technical and passenger-service aspects.
- Physical capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to work around animals and conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
