Job Summary
NetJets Aviation, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Procedures Developer, Technical Pilot to join its dynamic Flight Operations team. This pivotal role involves the meticulous development and precise implementation of specialized approach, departure, and landing procedures for the diverse NetJets aircraft fleet. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring safe and efficient navigation across various flight conditions by expertly analyzing terrain, obstructions, airspace, and the specific capabilities of aircraft and avionics to craft precise flight paths and approaches tailored to unique airport environments or regional requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Special Instrument Approach Procedures (SIAPs) in strict adherence to FAA, ICAO, and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and analyses of existing flight procedures to identify opportunities for enhancement, optimization, and improved operational access.
- Collaborate extensively with Air Traffic Control (ATC) personnel, pilots, and other critical stakeholders to meticulously gather requirements and incorporate feedback for robust procedure development.
- Provide expert technical support and deliver specialized training to both internal and external stakeholders regarding the proficient use and seamless implementation of Special Procedures.
- Maintain an advanced, up-to-date knowledge base concerning industry trends, cutting-edge technological advancements, and evolving regulatory changes pertinent to instrument flight procedures.
- Execute rigorous testing and validation of special procedures within FAA-approved Level D flight simulators, ensuring optimal flyability across each aircraft type, avionics accuracy, uncompromising safety standards, and full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is required.
- Professional certification or training in instrument procedure design standards (e.g., FAA TERPS, ICAO PANS-OPS) is essential.
Experience
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in aviation, preferably within flight operations, procedure design, or a related technical pilot role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAOs)
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of specialized design software and tools for flight path and approach procedure development.
- Profound understanding of aviation regulations and industry standards.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Air Traffic Control (ATC) personnel to develop mutually functional and suitable flight procedures.
- Extensive experience with FAA-approved Level D flight simulators.
- Fluent understanding of fundamental navigation concepts, including Performance-Based Navigation (PBN), Area Navigation (RNAV), Required Navigation Performance (RNP), Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS), and Vertical Navigation (VNAV).
- Strong project management skills, with the capacity to adeptly manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
- Familiarity with the NetJets aircraft fleet is highly desirable.
- Experience with flight inspection or flight validation processes is highly desirable.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $235,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
