Position Summary

NetJets seeks a skilled and experienced Flight Procedures Developer, Technical Pilot. This crucial role involves developing and implementing specialized approach, departure, and landing procedures for the NetJets aircraft fleet. The position focuses on ensuring safe and efficient navigation under various flight conditions by analyzing terrain, obstructions, airspace, and aircraft/avionics capabilities to create precise, tailored flight paths and approaches for specific airports and regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops Special Instrument Approach Procedures (SIAPs) in strict compliance with FAA, ICAO, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments and analyses of existing flight procedures to identify areas for enhancement, improvement, or increased operational access.
  • Collaborates effectively with air traffic control personnel, pilots, and other key stakeholders to gather necessary requirements and feedback critical for procedure development.
  • Provides essential technical support and training to both internal teams and external stakeholders regarding the proper use and implementation of developed Special Procedures.
  • Maintains continuous awareness of evolving industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes pertinent to instrument flight procedures.
  • Performs thorough testing and validation of special procedures within FAA-approved Level D flight simulators to verify flyability across different aircraft types, ensure avionics accuracy, and confirm adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is mandatory.
  • Professional certification or specialized training in instrument procedure design standards, such as FAA TERPS and ICAO PANS-OPS, is required.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in flight procedures development or a closely related aviation technical field is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations and standards is essential.
  • Proficiency in the use of design software and tools specifically related to flight path and approach procedure design is required.
  • Experience working with FAA-approved Level D flight simulators is necessary.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with Air Traffic Control (ATC) personnel to develop mutually functional and suitable flight procedures is required.
  • Demonstrated strength in project management, including the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, is required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are fundamental to this role.
  • Fluency in fundamental concepts of navigation, including PBN, RNAV, RNP, GNSS, SBAS, and VNAV, is required.
  • Familiarity with the NetJets aircraft fleet is highly desirable.
  • Experience with flight inspection or flight validation processes is highly desirable.
