Metro Aviation, Inc., a leader in traditional aircraft operations, completions, and maintenance, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Pilot (IFR/PIC) to join its Guardian Air Transport program in Show Low, Arizona. Job Objective:
As the Pilot in Command (PIC), the successful candidate will assume full responsibility for all phases and aspects of the assigned duties. The pilot will uphold the highest standards of flight safety, maintain a professional demeanor, and represent the Company in a positive light within the communities we serve. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential, as is the ability to maintain open and honest dialogue with supervisors, the company, and clients. Strong interpersonal skills are vital to foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients, contributing to the company's continued success in the industry.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the final authority and assume full responsibility for the operation of the assigned aircraft at all times.
- Conduct all duties with professionalism and courtesy, fostering positive interactions with customers, colleagues, Metro Aviation management, and the general public.
- Maintain a consistent work and training schedule as outlined by Metro Aviation, Inc., with occasional flexibility to accommodate extra duty shifts when necessary due to pilot absences or staffing shortages.
- Attend required Metro Aviation, Inc., or customer meetings.
- Adhere to all directives and guidance outlined in the Metro Aviation, Inc. General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Policy & Procedures, Company Bulletins, Federal Aviation Regulations, and any other applicable guidance/directives/regulations.
- Fulfill all responsibilities related to Operational Control as detailed in the Metro Aviation, Inc. General Operations Manual.
- Perform comprehensive pre-flight inspections and servicing (fuel, oxygen, etc.) to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned aircraft, both interior and exterior (including washing). The medical cabin should be maintained by medical personnel, with the PIC confirming its cleanliness.

Required Certificates:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- FAA 1st Class Medical
Minimum Required Experience:
- Total Time: 2,500 hours
- Total Pilot-in-Command Time: 1,000 hours
- Total Second-in-Command Time: 1,000 hours
- Total Cross Country Time: 500 hours
- Total Night Flight Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Flight Time: 75 hours (50 in flight)
Preferred Experience:
- Air Medical Operations
- International Operations
- High performance, high altitude, and complex endorsements (or equivalent 121/135 training documentation)
- Part 121/135 operations
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- Ability to perform activities requiring moderate to rigorous static pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting.
- Capable of lifting 40 pounds floor to bench height.
- Ability to hear and respond to routine aircraft noises.
- Maintain a "duty" weight (body weight + uniform/equipment helmet not included) if applicable per program.
- Ability to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit when requested.
- Require close and distant visual capability.
- Periodic hands to key ability (typing).
Work Environment:
- Temperature-controlled office/rest quarters.
- Exposure to outdoor aircraft facility with potential cold and hot temperatures.
- Exposure to running aircraft.
- Exposure to refueling systems.
Status & Work Schedule:
- Full Time
- 7 on / 7 off schedule
- 12 hour shifts
- Workover available depending on the needs of the program
