As the face of Mesa Airlines, the Flight Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring passenger safety and comfort. Essential Functions
- Provide unwavering attention to customers, ensuring a safe and reliable onboard experience.
- Greet passengers warmly, monitor carry-on baggage, and direct passengers to assigned seats.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and understanding demeanor during challenging situations and passenger conflict.
- Adhere to physical health and professional appearance standards.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all emergency procedures and demonstrate proficiency in operating all emergency equipment onboard the aircraft.
- Clearly and concisely explain the use of safety equipment to passengers.
- Serve beverages, snacks, and meals as applicable.
- Assist passengers with storing carry-on luggage in overhead or under-seat storage compartments.
- Inform passengers of relevant Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Perform necessary duties to assist with inflight medical emergencies and special needs passengers, including unaccompanied minors, visually or hearing impaired individuals, language-impaired individuals, elderly passengers, and physically challenged individuals.
- Adhere to policies outlined in the Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, Flight Attendant Manual, and Code Share Partner standards.

Compensation
The starting pay for Flight Attendants is $18.67 per flight hour, increasing to $20.24 after six months and $22.22 after 12 months, with annual increases thereafter. First-year Flight Attendants can expect to earn approximately $23,000 annually. Additional compensation opportunities are available, including a crash-pad assistance program and a portion of hotel costs paid by Mesa Airlines when company-provided accommodations are declined. Flight Attendants can earn an additional $500 monthly ($6,000 annually) through these other compensation opportunities.
Bases
The location for this position is determined based on the company's operational needs and seniority. Current bases, subject to change, include:
- IAD (Washington, DC)
- IAH (Houston, TX)
- PHX (Phoenix, AZ)
- SDF (Louisville, KY)
New hires will be assigned to one of the above bases during training.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; college credits OR a minimum of two years of customer service experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and dependability.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Upon completion of training, willingness to be assigned to any of Mesa Airlines crew bases (may involve relocation or commuting) based on the company's operational needs.
- Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Height between 4'11'' and 6' without shoes; must be able to reach overhead bins and galley compartments to retrieve emergency equipment.
- Ability to perform all safety-related procedures, including operating aircraft doors, lifting emergency window exits (approximately 40 lbs.), assisting with carry-on baggage stowage, and operating meal and beverage carts.
- Must present a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times.
- Ability to sit in the flight attendant jumpseat without modification, walk comfortably down the aisle facing forward, and fit quickly through the overwing exits.
- Minimum 20/40 vision, corrected or uncorrected.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid passport.
- Must have the legal ability to travel unrestricted to/from all countries served by Mesa Airlines, including Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, and Cuba.
- Applicants must have the authorization to make multiple entries into the United States at will.
- Successful completion of a background investigation, including FBI fingerprinting and criminal history check.
- Pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug, alcohol, and random screening throughout employment, including screening for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and amphetamine. The DOT prohibits medical marijuana for safety-sensitive employees.
