Responsibilities:
Flight Attendants are pivotal in ensuring passenger safety and comfort throughout the flight. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing attentive and courteous service to all passengers, fostering a safe and positive onboard experience.
- Greeting passengers, managing carry-on baggage, and assisting with seat assignments.
- Maintaining composure and professionalism in challenging situations, including passenger conflicts.
- Adhering to stringent professional appearance standards and maintaining excellent physical health.
- Possessing a comprehensive understanding of all emergency procedures and proficient operation of onboard safety equipment.
- Clearly and concisely explaining safety procedures and equipment usage to passengers.
- Serving beverages, snacks, and meals as required.
- Assisting passengers with stowing carry-on luggage.
- Informing passengers of relevant Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Providing assistance to passengers with special needs, including unaccompanied minors and those with disabilities.
- Strict adherence to company policies outlined in the Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, Flight Attendant Manual, and Code Share Partner standards.
Compensation and Benefits:
The starting hourly rate is $18.67 per flight hour, increasing to $20.24 after six months and $22.22 after twelve months, with subsequent annual increases. Estimated first-year earnings are approximately $23,000. Mesa Air Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health plans, travel benefits, and bonuses. Additional compensation opportunities can increase monthly earnings.
Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college credits or two years of customer service experience are preferred.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and dependability.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Willingness to be assigned to any Mesa Airlines crew base upon completion of training, potentially requiring relocation or commuting.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Height between 4'11" and 6' (without shoes), with the ability to reach overhead bins and galley compartments.
- Ability to perform all safety-related procedures, including operating aircraft doors, lifting emergency window exits (approximately 40 lbs.), assisting with baggage stowage, and operating meal and beverage carts.
- Consistent maintenance of a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
- Ability to comfortably sit in the jumpseat, walk the aisle, and quickly exit through overwing exits.
- Minimum 20/40 vision, corrected or uncorrected.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid passport.
- Legal ability to travel unrestricted to/from all countries served by Mesa Airlines.
- Authorization for multiple entries into the United States.
- Successful completion of a background investigation, including FBI fingerprinting and criminal history check.
- Successful completion of pre-employment and random DOT/FAA drug and alcohol screenings (including marijuana).
