About the Role
Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced F-35 Instructor Pilot for a full-time position at Misawa Air Base, Japan. This role supports the JASDF F-35 Lightning II program, focusing on academic and simulator training. Responsibilities include delivering instruction via Electronic Mediated Lecture (EML) and Interactive Courseware (ICW), operating Full Mission Simulators (FMS) and Instructor Operating Stations (IOS), and managing pilot training courseware updates. The instructor pilot will collaborate with the Lockheed Martin training team to achieve training objectives, potentially augment training at other F-35 sites, prepare lesson plans, and evaluate student performance.
Requirements

Active secret security clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years, and the ability to qualify for Special Access Required (SAR) programs.

In-depth knowledge of fourth and/or fifth-generation aircraft systems.

Operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as Night Vision devices, EO/IR targeting systems, Helmet Mounted Cuing, and modern air-to-surface and air-to-air weapons.

Prior experience delivering military pilot academic and simulator training, with familiarity with current instructional techniques and delivery methods.

Experience working in an environment requiring interaction with multiple functional areas and diverse personnel.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral and written communication abilities, solid organizational skills, and a high desire for customer satisfaction.

Must be a US Citizen for security clearance consideration.
Qualifications

Current or demonstrated experience as a USAF/USN/USMC Instructor Pilot (IP) with multi-role fighter experience.

Graduate of a Weapon School, Top Gun, or MAWTS program is desired.

Experience as an operator and/or instructor in a fourth/fifth-generation Full Mission Simulator (FMS).

F-35 flight experience is highly desired.

Minimum of 1,000 hours of fighter flight time in fourth and/or fifth-generation multi-role fighter aircraft.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.
