Summary
CAE seeks an experienced Instructor Pilot to deliver high-quality flight simulation and ground school training for military aviators in the United States. This role is crucial in enhancing safety and readiness for critical missions by preparing military personnel through expert instruction.
About the Role
The Instructor Pilot is responsible for providing comprehensive flight simulator and ground school instruction, adhering to regulatory requirements, CAE-approved curricula, and customer standards. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Instructor Pilot guides trainees, ensuring professionalism, safety, and instructional excellence. With approximately 1.5 years of experience and based on business needs, designated instructors may be expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver simulator and classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types for licenses, type ratings, certificates, and pilot qualifications.

Conduct professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.

Maintain accurate training records, track instructional qualifications, and recommend remedial training as needed.

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in curriculum and courseware development and maintenance.

Provide a professional and welcoming learning environment, delivering consistent, customer-focused training.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

Hold, or meet qualifications to obtain, an unrestricted ATP certificate.

Possess a minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.

Demonstrate strong teaching aptitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Possess basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.

Must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.

Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
Physical Requirements

Possess physical dexterity for tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Ability to sit in a confined space for 4–6 hours at a time with limited breaks.

Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours) with limited breaks.

Ability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn as required for simulator instruction.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience flying business aircraft and single-pilot operations.

Prior instructional or training experience.

Demonstrated ability to tailor instruction to a diverse, global customer base.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records in compliance with CAE and FAA requirements.
