Amentum is seeking an Academic Instructor to support the Academics Division at Fort Rucker, AL. This role involves planning and delivering instruction for flight-related subjects, maintaining current training materials, administering and grading examinations, and providing support to students.

Responsibilities

Instruct and plan instructional efforts for assigned flight-related subjects in accordance with applicable regulations, directives, policies, and procedures.

Conduct research to ensure all assigned subject area lesson plans and training materials remain current.

Prepare, update, administer, grade, record, and critique examinations within assigned instructional areas.

Prepare, update, and present lesson plans and instructional materials, including computer presentations.

Provide extra instruction for students requesting additional help.

Attend safety and academic instructor meetings.

Ensure training materials, aids, and equipment are maintained, current, and available.

Advise supervisor of needed supplies, materials, and training aids.

Provide information and data for requested reports.

Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge and skill to effectively teach Initial Entry Rotary Wing students in subjects including Theory of Rotary Wing Flight, Flight Support, Navigation, Aviation Weather, and Basic/Advanced Instruments.

Prior to hire, proficiency must be demonstrated through a class presentation evaluated by the Academics Division Director and representatives, scored according to the Army academic evaluation system.

Must possess FAA Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) and Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI) Ratings prior to hire.

A minimum of three years of general aviation experience is required.

Fundamental computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite, database input, accessing electronic publications, completing electronic forms, and creating visual presentations.

Upon hire, must complete or have completed the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFD-IC) satisfactorily within the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous qualification as a U.S. Army helicopter instructor pilot with experience teaching ground school subjects to medium/large groups.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Typical office environment with occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.

Constant computer use while standing or sitting.

Ability to stand for extended periods up to three hours.

Constant use of sight abilities for document review.

Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication and constant mental alertness.

Must possess planning/organizational skills and the ability to work within time constraints and adapt to changing technologies.
Compensation
$39.67 hourly to $51.90 hourly.
